Never listened to these guys before (yep, also because of the name). Just heard Songs About Leaving for the first time and this is so up my street! To me, it feels somewhere in between a triangle of Sunny Day Real Estate, Halifax Pier and Elliott Smith, or Low, somehow. I've no use for Band of Horses, but I'm loving this so far.

The S album produced by Chris Walla is a really nice listen. Sera Cahoone, the violinist, has a new one I've yet to hear. Talented group, still missed.

Are you sure you have the right 'sarah/sera'? I thought Sarah Standard was the violinist. https://www.discogs.com/artist/365824-Sarah-Standard

Jenn Ghetto dropped the "S" name and started recording under Jenn Champion, btw.

Double-checked Sera's site and we're both correct. I should have said "a" violinist, instead of "the".

I didn't know about Jenn Champion. Thanks!

all their LPs are solid, and the b-sides are gorgeous as well. the atmosphere is particularly alive on 'you should be at home here' LP - you can hear the room breathe and it feels like an evening of company.

Jenn Champion's _Single Rider_ is highly recommended. Def in my top 10 for the year. Sets a chill vibe and delivers song after solid song.
