Didi is back, Gary is coming back in the next couple weeks. This feels real.

My elderly dad got a chuckle out of this picture and since I showed it to him he keeps asking me how that huge guy for the Yanks is doing.

@darenw
Aaron Judge's double in the 2nd was hit 119 MPH... 2nd hardest ball hit this year. Just behind his 119.4 MPH HR. He hits baseballs hard.

get back to us in July

Supercreditor (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 9 May 2017 14:49 (six years ago) link

CC Sabathia is definitely a shadow of the former power pitcher he used to be but the guy has some guile. CC had one inning tonight where he totally came apart at the screws and gave up five runs, but somehow was able to regain control and then looked better than before he lost it. It wasn't enough, but he got through six which considering how gone he looked in the 2nd was kinda a sad impressive feat.

earlnash, Wednesday, 10 May 2017 03:04 (six years ago) link

He's at the "...goes out there and competes every fifth day"/"minimizes damage" stage

Andy K, Wednesday, 10 May 2017 21:24 (six years ago) link

just trying to give the team a chance to win

mookieproof, Wednesday, 10 May 2017 21:52 (six years ago) link

CC was a total beast that partial year with the Brewers. Only sporadically saw him pitch in his prime, but his stuff used to be lethal on right handed hitters as he could throw hard, down and in movement.

i haven't been watching MLBN lately but this is depressing given that the original appeal of the network way back in the day was that it offered so much more parity than ESPN, which was the yankees/red sox channel for so many years

i'm guessing their nightly show is still more even than BBTN/the ten designated minutes of SC, but still, yikes

First-Place Yankees Aren’t Faring Nearly as Well at the Ticket Office

Those selling points have yet to turn around attendance at Yankee Stadium, where ticket and suite revenues through last season had fallen by a staggering $166 million since the end of 2009, the year the Yankees christened the new ballpark with their last World Series title.
