last 2 posts itt changed my life

this comp is so good - pbvynil already sold out :-(

gr8080, Thursday, 27 April 2017 14:12 (six years ago) link

Vinyl is sold out everywhere but it's getting a reissue I think.

groovypanda, Thursday, 27 April 2017 18:51 (six years ago) link

there's a Young Marco Boiler Room set from a year or two ago where he plays half the stuff on the compilation while Dutch ravers enjoy the sunshine and it just looks like the most fun imaginable. Do we have a general "Italo House c or d?" style thread?

The Jex Opolis album is really good, especially if you like 80's synth vibes.

^ That was the one I wanted to post but wasn't on YouTube last week (well, couldn't find it anyway)

Been listening to this great mix from Cedric Woo this week:

groovypanda, Wednesday, 3 May 2017 21:19 (six years ago) link

loads of really good mixes from brilliant corners lately. i dunno when they got on the balearic bandwagon, it used to be mainly disco, but they seem to have had a string of people playing the last few months. still not a partic huge fan of the space tho, too small and full, even tho i live fairly near.

can anyone help me find a dj/musician in the house/balearic vein - i remember hearing a boiler room set a few years ago, he puts on some music and then plays (i think) flute over it? very mellow.

bobothehobo, Friday, 2 June 2017 17:04 (six years ago) link

been trying to id this for about a year. finally :) what a tune!

the new Suzanne Kraft & Jonny Nash album Passive Aggressive is so good, clearly all that time Nash has spent hanging around Gigi Masin has been very useful.

boxedjoy, Saturday, 3 June 2017 17:12 (six years ago) link

don't know where else to put this beautiful mellow track, it's been owning me lately. the flute, piano, and vocals are paul horn and joni mitchell from the 1974 horn album visions. don't know where the rest comes from. blue heron - "paul's blues" 2015 on mood hut

that tune is amazing! didn't know what it was but heard it in a jamie tiller mix and been wondering for a while, such a great piece of music.

Avid lurker of this thread, enjoy p much all your admissions in here (being in Spain for two months helps, as cliche as that may sound), but the Tharsis Montes, man, that is indeed a jam, so great.

Not balearic exactly but words are just tools to box us in and divide us. other than 'genial' that is a word to key into the car of a neighbour as part of hi-jinks

Nice! Is that your tune?

― elan,

Unfortunately not, mine don't have that peaceful joie de vivre. Someone left a tape in the car park at Morrisons. I picked it up and tried it out in the Hyundai Accent LC I had hired for the week, and then this happened, reverie flew throughout the valley and crime figures were reduced
