ffs

PressAnarchyToContinue (Ste), Saturday, 22 April 2017 16:59 (seven years ago) link

We've been excellent

Chelsea have attacked three times, scored twice and had our best CB booked

Were getting killed in a very select way essentially

virginity simple (darraghmac), Saturday, 22 April 2017 17:01 (seven years ago) link

Son should never have been in the position to make that tackle in the first place. Poch has fucked up with his team selection here.

Matt DC, Saturday, 22 April 2017 17:02 (seven years ago) link

Eriksen's been v good but idk what Wanyama is supposed to do tbh

On Some Faraday Beach (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 22 April 2017 17:05 (seven years ago) link

Wanyama has let balls and players past him and chosen not to tackle four or five times and has given our defence a problem every time

I've had to eat my words about him because he's been essential all season but he is writing cheques for Chelsea today.

Can't really argue with that.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 22 April 2017 17:56 (seven years ago) link

Lost all balance. It'll go to 6 before we get another

virginity simple (darraghmac), Saturday, 22 April 2017 17:59 (seven years ago) link

Not a bad performance but swatted away when it was required, it's not entirely negative to remind this squad what winning looks like tbh

virginity simple (darraghmac), Saturday, 22 April 2017 18:00 (seven years ago) link

Four goals from five shots on target.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 22 April 2017 18:01 (seven years ago) link

That's what winning looks like!

Ah it's not so bad, not embarrassed or anything

virginity simple (darraghmac), Saturday, 22 April 2017 18:06 (seven years ago) link

It's not. Spurs played really well. But eh

On Some Faraday Beach (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 22 April 2017 18:08 (seven years ago) link

A great game. I wonder how Spuds would be doing if Danny Rose hadn't got injured. A rare defeat for Poch tactically but still a great performance. Gutted to lose when you've shown so much quality.

lilcraigyboi (Craigo Boingo), Saturday, 22 April 2017 18:47 (seven years ago) link

Danny Rose is absolutely crucial to the tactical balance of the team. If he'd been fit the initial XI would have been completely different and moreover we wouldn't have been treated to the absurd spectacle of of two right backs on the pitch at once.

It seems fairly obvious that in a game like that you play as close to you first choice defence as possible. I see the tactical rationale behind playing Trippier but otherwise it made no sense.

Matt DC, Saturday, 22 April 2017 21:18 (seven years ago) link

Essentially Poch needed Wanyama in the team and couldn't bring himself to drop one of Son or Dier. Both of whom have been excellent of late.

Matt DC, Saturday, 22 April 2017 21:19 (seven years ago) link

try being a Utd fan lol

Number None, Saturday, 22 April 2017 21:32 (seven years ago) link

It's a very bad result, and I agree that Walker and Davies (in absence of Rose) should have started, and Son on bench.

The odd thing though is that we didn't really lose because of these bad tactical decisions. When Hazard scored on 75, Walker had replaced Son, Trippier was at left-back (and probably not doing much wrong) and we had been dominating the game for 75 minutes, having scored two sublime goals. At 2-2 we were camped in their half for long spells.

So ultimately the result seems to come down to the late turn of fortunes. Which has something to do with CFC's strength in depth - ie who they could bring off the bench, vs the total lack of game-changers on ours.

the pinefox, Sunday, 23 April 2017 08:33 (seven years ago) link

* = we had been dominating the game for 30 minutes, from 45 to 75.

the pinefox, Sunday, 23 April 2017 08:33 (seven years ago) link

btw I also felt Lloris was unusually poor, even though I'm not certain he was specifically much at fault for the goals - maybe the 1st and 3rd.

the pinefox, Sunday, 23 April 2017 08:35 (seven years ago) link

I only saw the second half and from my perspective Spurs were all over Chelsea (....until Chelsea scored twice)

Warren's Treat (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 23 April 2017 21:41 (seven years ago) link

Yes that is accurate!

Leeds going out to Newport, Saiz sent off for spitting - I think.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Sunday, 7 January 2018 13:56 (six years ago) link

RED CARD - Samuel Saiz

Newport 2-1 Leeds

I mean, what on earth is happening here.

Robbie Willmott, who has been immense for Newport, is showing referee Mike Dean his shirt. It would appear he is pointing to blood.

Dean consults his assistant, turns and gets the red out for Leeds sub Samuel Saiz.

Truly odd.

even that bellend of a ref can't spoil the Cup Magic today.

calzino, Sunday, 7 January 2018 15:08 (six years ago) link

It seems Dirty Leeds fans have a historical hatred of Dean, but last year he made a fool out of himself by awarding them a pen against Barsnley, for a clearly a yard outside the box incident.

Stream for spurs match is from a fans mobile in the stands

I can dig it

I can remember a similar, but more amusing occasion where play was stopped until Iffy Onuora's missing contact lens was found.

calzino, Sunday, 7 January 2018 15:46 (six years ago) link

xp

those submarine streams from the stands can be a mixed bag, but most of the streaming sites are shite these days.

calzino, Sunday, 7 January 2018 15:49 (six years ago) link

Cullen's teeth a good metaphor for Moysey's toothless Hammers performance. I feel for Shrewsbury.

When we play any of the big dogs there is usually an acestream link (which gives you a hd stream thru vlc player if you don't know it). But the rest of the time I use the Reddit stream page, which has been full of dud links this season.
