For whatever reason, I've found recently that if you close mediafire, and click the link again a minute or two later, it will usually then work. That seems to be the case with this one--the file is still up for download.

If they eventually do go down, I'll upload all the mixes to the Mixcloud account so at least they are streamable.

Thanks!

hey, if you still needed a physical copy of your box set, I have one... I love it, but if you haven't got one of your own you should have it!

Thank you so much, Erry--I think a friend who ended up with two copies is going to send me one. But that's really kind of you!

A new mix in the 'Le Monde du Funk' series, which is really turning into my favorites--definitely helping get me through the Trump Era so far!

This one hones in on '80-'82:

Thanks guys, hope you're digging it. Besides my stated ulterior motive of getting people to buy music they didn't know/have, my other motive with the Musicophilia blog has been trying to parlay the popularity of the post-punk/'1981' stuff into some ears on all the other stuff I love. So if one or two people who never thought they liked 80s funk/boogie/post-disco/R&B/etc. hear these mixes and dig them, I'll be happy ; )

Ok, this one came together quickly, but it's been spinning in the back of my head forever: a mix focused on cyclical music, music that feels like it's turning and pulling you along. Includes Ashra, Jack DeJohnette, Eno & Cluster, Jean-Philippe Goude, Michael Rother, Jan Hammer, Roxy Music, Robert Wyatt, Gunter Schickert, Heldon, Essendon Airport, This Heat, Harald Grosskopf, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Gong, and Le Orme, and I'm really happy with how it came together:

I put together an 81-minute sampler mix for the '1981' set, in case anybody needs a post-punk booster shot, or better yet, if anyone knows someone who doesn't yet know the joys of post-punk for whom two 7hr-9hr boxes might be a bid daunting. It takes two or three tracks from each of the 9 mixes in the set:

Can't see the 'Nocturnes' mix on this thread any more, although I could have sworn it used to be here? I mean, I already have it (and it's great, thank you), and I know it's still on the blog, but I'm wondering if it was taken down from this thread for some reason.

Got another volume '72-'76 slow cooking, with no repeat artists (which accounts for a lot of the omissions on this volume). Hope folks like it!

Whew you're playing pretty fast and loose with the genre there.
