That's what you get for trying to test me, son.

It collapsed under the weight of sheer Passantino vitriol

I can't say I'm a fan of the political alignment choices either -- I ended up picking 'other' because nothing really exists that matches my general outlook (and thus a metaphor for my view vis-a-vis the two-party system as a whole, etc.)

A friend of mine is bent out of shape that there's no "marital status = widowed". I think she has a point. What should she write: "It's complicated with my husband dead and all"?

Nubbelverbrennung, Friday, 29 June 2007 19:26 (twelve years ago) link

I just learned that one of the founders of Facebook is a fan of my band. We're listed in his profile. Weird.

jaymc, Friday, 29 June 2007 19:29 (twelve years ago) link

these claims remain dubious at best

That one guy that quit, Saturday, 30 June 2007 11:42 (twelve years ago) link

best error message I ever got was while searching was down; something to the effect of "We're sorry, this function is temporarily unavailable. Please try your search again in a little while, or right now."

bernard snowy, Saturday, 30 June 2007 14:14 (twelve years ago) link

ah, i never did reply to this thread. my computer's only letting me access ilx every three of four days atm, which seems a slightly harsh rate of censorship. i'll be gone all of next week too. aren't you lucky?

the vast flood of ilxors adding me as a friend is still only a steady trickle. c'mon! it's not like you don't know my name (and I'm still, to my knowledge, the only one on F-book, not that this isn't a cue for passantino to create a fake-LJ with amusing political views/sexual proclivities)...

Just got offed, Sunday, 1 July 2007 00:25 (twelve years ago) link

Only a few ILXors have friended me. You know you can friend them yourself if all else fails.

Curt1s Stephens, Sunday, 1 July 2007 00:27 (twelve years ago) link

All but one of my friends are from ILX. I should get out some more. Or my real-life non-ILX friends should get on teh interwebs more.

ive just joined farcebook and found it a bit weird. kinda interesting to see where old school friends are and have them poke and add you and all that but kinda creepy all the same and theres certain schoolmates who i really dont wanna see ever again but you cant help it as theyre friends with other people you know. its also a bit farcical i think, lots of people have added me just for the sake of adding (and well prob vice versa), not for any other real reason. seems a bit pointless. im going to use it for networking with people ive never met in my life anyway.

titchyschneiderMk2, Monday, 2 July 2007 11:51 (twelve years ago) link

I have the same problem. All these people I'd happily left long behind certainly emerging from the woodwork, applying to be your "friend". Have we spoken in 5+ years? Are you likely to ever again make any attempt to contact me? Then wwe're not really friends are we? Better to be selective I reckon.

Uptoeleven, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:44 (twelve years ago) link

I'm just too busy trying to become a MUSICK EKSPERT

nathalie, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:46 (twelve years ago) link

i actually got sucked in and poked a few old school friends who i havent spoken to in years.

titchyschneiderMk2, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:47 (twelve years ago) link

worse than old school friends though is women you went out with who it didnt work out with poking you. WHY?

titchyschneiderMk2, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:48 (twelve years ago) link

Well, she wants to get JIZZY with you. I said JIZZY, yes, JIZZY.

nathalie, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:49 (twelve years ago) link

ha but no, i think she just wants me to click 'ADD' and bump up her friends list (although facebook doesnt seem nearly as bad for that as myspace).

titchyschneiderMk2, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:55 (twelve years ago) link

I repeat: JIZZY with ya! ;-)

nathalie, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:57 (twelve years ago) link

i added them anyway
lol

titchyschneiderMk2, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:57 (twelve years ago) link

throw her a banana and add "stuff it" message

nathalie, Monday, 2 July 2007 12:59 (twelve years ago) link

Can you help me with something? If I want to find old friends, and I search their name and lots of people come up and it's not immediately apparent if any of them are who I'm looking for, how do I see their full profile?
