great episode and finale, I'm ok with them ending if it has to. They've had a really consistent run.

apparently they have signed on for 2 further seasons but they're taking a hiatus after this season and glenn howerton might not be back for the next season (this has probably been posted upthread)

thought last season was really ropey but this season was A+++

charlie finally hooking up with the waitress then being not that into it was very good

all the sexist "don't be so emotional" stuff w the waitress + Dee was great, esp contrasted w Mandy who was completely dispassionate the entire time

it was kind of a contrast between women they knew and were increasingly shitty to, versus this woman outside the group they seemed to be bending over backward in an attempt to avoid confrontation over the truth

so many ways of not treating women as human

haha yes

I feel like in minor ways I've been guilty of both and it's just so damning

some of the jokes this season have veered a lil into good boy ally territory this season imo, seams showing

Charlie and Dennis as dads has a lot of comedy potential

charlie's precisely as amoral as the rest, just less ambitious or scheming!

This is actually pretty impressive!

Charlie's scheming has really only focused on the waitress and on that subject it has been shown he can get pretty ambitious.

Not to mention his leprechaun trapping

Realizing I was several seasons behind - like, most of them - I've been catching up at a rapid pace, and so far they've all been awesome ... until the start of season 7 (where I'm at). "Jersey Shore" and "Frank's Little Beauties" were both pretty lame and obvious, in both their over their topness and obviousness. I mean, they both had their moments - Jersey Shore in particular - but overall kinda lame. Anyway, I know it will get better, but we were talking about worst episodes and, well, I'm there.

Sex scene is the sort of thing I was talking about. Of course they were going to see something like that, just telegraphed. Same with Mac and Frank adrift in the raft (which other show had this same gag, I'm racking my brain ...). Same with Dee's hair in the ride. And armed robbery and murder accessory ridiculous even for this show. I did like Charlie's arc, though by this show's standard of continuity... how could he have never seen the ocean, he was in Atlantic City the previous season.

But yeah, it had its moments, just didn't seem like it was trying at all. Better than Frank's Beauties by far, though.

I didn't like Frank's Beauties, no argument there. I do agree Dee and Dennis' crime spree was a bit too OTT.

Rumham was a very Dumb Homer moment. But, like, even that - it's sort of sideways funny but all the effort to hide booze is just very ... yeah, dumb Homer. I mean, when they revealed the sunblock bottle ruse, I was just counting the seconds to Charlie drinking straight sunblock. When the guy came by the bar to regulate the child pageant, I was just counting the seconds till his reveal as a pedo. And so on.

I dunno, I like the show and I like the Gang (in a way), but now that I think of it, all three eps of season 7 push things a bit too far with lesser results, imo. Including lots of fake blood, now that I think of it. Dee's CGI hair wound, Frank's broken nose, Charlie jet-vomiting blood capsules, all a little too TV-world for me. And this is coming after weeks of binging on past seasons, which I've loved without exception, iirc.

(Obviously I am being nit-picky, the show is hilarious, just a weird lull I've hit.)

I haven't seen every episode, but Seasons 8 and 9 are pretty solid, so keep going!

just saw the final episode of S12 last night. wow, did not see that coming. appreciate them delving into real drama for a bit.

OK, season 7, episode 4, still a little stiff, though about as well executed a dead baby plot as it could be. And yet, strangely the fourth episode in a row with gross out blood gags, with Dee's bleeding eyes and the decomposed dog. Clearly someone got a bump in the fake blood budget. Wait, and the next one is "Frank's Brother?" Isn't that the consensus worst episode? Man, season 7, you're bringing me down.

haha I was just thinking about the Frank's Brother episode earlier. It's... not great, but the main gag is good. And there's no fake blood iirc. (There are a lot of wigs though)

Cool. Trying to put my finger on what is different this time around. All I can think of is the cast all having kids, which to be fair would explain a lot.

That's awesome. Think I saw The Waitress on an episode of Happy Endings. I played it cool.

Ok, Frank's Brother ... fine, as a dumb lark. But the storm episode is kind of a return to form. And then ... Cricket gets​ shot in the hand and starts pumping fake blood! What is it with all the blood this season?

OK, I thought S7 was pretty weak, but then I just hit a run of Chardee MacDennis, the Anti-Social Network and especially The Gang Gets Trapped, which were all hilarious.

possibly my #1 favorite, although the Gang Dances Their Asses Off is a close contender

The payoff with the whip and the vase in Get Trapped made me laugh. But in Chardee MacDennis, when they nail down the board because eventually Mac always forgets it's been nailed down and tries to flip it ("It's true, I will try to flip it" concedes Mac) ... Later in the episode, after all the lunacy, I had totally forgotten it had been nailed down myself, and when he tried to flip it I cracked up. I mean, after they nail it down and note why I thought to myself, OK, how are they going to make me forget it had been nailed down to make it a good payoff? And somehow they did it! Just slight of hand genius.

PTS Dee might be my favorite from the season
