big supporter of glockenspiels in guitar music but brand new eyes is the one for me.

refuse to believe Low Level Owl was made by humans

its sprawling and ambitious

low level owl is maybe one of the weirdest products of the emo ecosystem--distant spacey flyover country jams

that was the APPLESEED CAST I voted for. I did not vote for any paramore funnily enough

it would have been my #1, had i voted. i caught them twice around that time in MO and they put on a great show.

yeah when i saw them around the release of peregrine and they were so good. a wall of sound in a tiny venue

they guy who drummed on the llo records was a beast btw

the drums are like 70% of why i love it

"Steps and Numbers" off of LLO1 is such a jam (bc of the drum part, lol!)

yeah that part is sick, i think i downloaded that track on napster or whatever i had at the time and that was enough for me to go buy the record

love the recessed vox. the sound on llo is top notch i think ed rose is a great producer

LLO makes me deeply sad in a very satisfying way, like being on a long train ride through rainy territory

lol same, the top 20 is starting to feel p predictable (in content if not order)

I have no idea what is still to come except maybe 2 or 3 things I voted for if im lucky

yet another incredible album I did not vote for and don't associate with emo

srsly one of my all time favorite albums but I didn't vote for it... why? not emo ;)

Think I voted for this too, on the strength of Luau being an all-time jam. Rest of the album isn't as good (I also like Sinews I think?) but yeah shit that one song is like I mean

...not emo though :)

I think DLJ is another of those bands that tons of people who were way into emo also listened to (esp people who went on to form emo bands)

I wonder if I should put my name down for a Hardcore/Post-Hardcore/Math-Rock poll for 2021 or whenever the end of the queue will be

I'm really digging Dismemberment Plan's Change. Emergency & I is the only one I ever owned but I might like this better.
