I guess I have listened to this album before? "Helena" is super familiar.

helena was EVERYWHERE. such a perfect belter

i understand why they're maligned by serious music fans bc mcr is like the quintessential hot topic band but also the album is hot fire straight thru.

also for new MCR converts do not sleep on Black Parade and particularly "Teenagers"

'Teenagers' is forever associated in my mind with the memory of tarantino telling zane lowe it was his favourite song at the time

"Thank you for the Venom" is so adorable, it always sounds like kiddie thrash to me (in a good way)

MCR was certainly not everywhere in my part of the world: only 'Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)' and 'Welcome to the Black Parade' ever hit the Dutch top 100, peaking at very respectable places 86 and 92.

i think i didn't realize how good it was until paramore covered "faces in disguise" on the riot tour

i left this off my ballot and had Dairy in its place, which is stupid bc this is prob the SDRE i love the most

my circle of friends in lolcollege had 2 bros who listened to metal exclusively and when this album came out we evangelized to them relentlessly until they became dudes who listened to metal and the new SDRE exclusively. about a dozen of us went and saw them on this tour together and were so zealous in our singing along and swaying that most of the rest of the audience took note and the band at one point acknowledged us
