I can't imagine the jokes revolving around homosexuality have quite the same er tenor over there

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Tuesday, 21 February 2017 14:37 (seven years ago) link

i'm not sure they have the same interpretation across the different parts of north america!

mh 😏, Tuesday, 21 February 2017 15:09 (seven years ago) link

watched 5/6/7 last night, feeling kind of a drop off in quality here, the murderer things esp felt like it had 0 jokes.

rong

imago, Wednesday, 22 February 2017 23:09 (seven years ago) link

i've watched seasons 1-10 over the past 2-3 months and the quality is shockingly consistent. only a handful of duds throughout

Killing it this season

Everything Moves Towards The Sun (Ross), Thursday, 23 February 2017 06:19 (seven years ago) link

next week is "A Cricket's Tale," with possible redemption for our beloved street rat. I'm dubious about his chances but I hope he at least gets some revenge on the gang.

evol j, Thursday, 23 February 2017 13:44 (seven years ago) link

Good episode this week, nice back-to-basics feel after some of the flights of fancy this season--the tapeworm named "Jerry" was the perfect type of grossout Frank/Charlie joke.

'Not Jerry. Not the worm. Never the worm.'

Best episode of the season.

chap, Friday, 24 February 2017 00:10 (seven years ago) link

Though I'm not sure the RPG quite rang true. It should've been something more serial killer-y, less warry.

chap, Friday, 24 February 2017 09:59 (seven years ago) link

Yeahy first guess was it was like a mail order bride or a dead girl or something

Οὖτις, Friday, 24 February 2017 16:20 (seven years ago) link

I was thinking it would be a life-size cast or RealDoll of himself

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Friday, 24 February 2017 16:23 (seven years ago) link

oh boy. that would've been amazing.

dan selzer, Friday, 24 February 2017 16:29 (seven years ago) link

Anyway I was expecting a really big punchline there and they didn't really deliver. Still, a minor quibble for a fantastic episode.

chap, Friday, 24 February 2017 16:54 (seven years ago) link

omg the part where dee and dennis do impressions in "the gang goes to hell pt 2"

Incredible all-cricket episode!

Οὖτις, Sunday, 5 March 2017 18:08 (seven years ago) link

fun seeing glimpses of prior eps from crickets pov, and the punchline was so rude and perfect

lag∞n, Sunday, 5 March 2017 18:12 (seven years ago) link

this season has delivered some amazing punchlines

so does he actually shower in the leaky urinal or is it a cover for going to where he's got his pcp stash? time will tell

Def PCP

If you're homeless it seems pretty legit to store your PCP in a safe space away from others who may try to gank it

also guilty lol that cricket's drug of choice is angel dust

A+ episode

Carlotta's Portrait (Ross), Thursday, 9 March 2017 08:32 (seven years ago) link

agreed. hope it's not really the last of Howerton. gotta think they bring him back at least periodically over the last two seasons.

evol j, Thursday, 9 March 2017 15:28 (seven years ago) link

omg spoilers, going to have to watch asap

mh 😏, Thursday, 9 March 2017 15:39 (seven years ago) link

i didnt even consider the possibility that dennis might actually be going away now im sad

lag∞n, Friday, 10 March 2017 02:01 (seven years ago) link

why wld he do that

lag∞n, Friday, 10 March 2017 02:01 (seven years ago) link

“So… it’s a little complicated. I may seem a little bit evasive here, and I don’t mean to. It’s not entirely certain whether I am or am not. I might be. I might be, but I might not be. That really is the truth. Just to be clear, to dispel any potential weirdness, it has nothing to do with my relationship to anyone on the show or Rob or Charlie or anyone like that. It’s partially a creative and personal decision. We may be taking an extended hiatus between season 12 and season 13. So I’m certainly staying open to the possibility of doing more, but there is a possibility that I will not.”

lag∞n, Friday, 10 March 2017 02:02 (seven years ago) link

The reason for his possible departure became more clear following Uproxx’s interview, with NBC announcing that Howerton had been cast alongside Patton Oswalt in a sitcom pilot from Seth Meyers and SNL’s Mike O’Brien called AP Bio. Should that pilot go to series, it would likely seriously cut into Howerton’s time for It’s Always Sunny, which could explain the show’s possible hiatus.

lovely season finale tho

an uptempo Pop/Hip Hop mentality (imago), Friday, 10 March 2017 02:11 (seven years ago) link

Charlie Day already has a career in films, Mac wants to work behind the camera and Dee got a sitcom...considering that Glen Howerton missed out on stuff like Guardians of the Galaxy and other films, maybe he feels like time is passing and if he wants to be something else other than Dennis - he's got to take the shot. I doubt any of those guys figured that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia would last this long anyway and still kinda be rising.

If they lay off six extra months before doing another season, it might make the debut even bigger next time.

earlnash, Friday, 10 March 2017 04:41 (seven years ago) link

tbrr that pilot will never make it and he'll be back and they will have an extended joke about it xp

mh 😏, Friday, 10 March 2017 06:10 (seven years ago) link

if not, good for him

I would be fine with Always Sunny ending on a high note even if I will miss it

they did a lot of character coda stuff! nothing for Frank or Dee, but the bit with Charlie and the waitress was something. and has anyone noticed that the dude who plays Cricket is a pastor on the other fx show Baskets? as if it exists in some parallel comedy universe or a world before Always Sunny

mh 😏, Friday, 10 March 2017 06:14 (seven years ago) link

who was howard up for in Guardians?

removed from the rain drops and drop tops of experience (ulysses), Friday, 10 March 2017 08:19 (seven years ago) link

Chris Pratt's character. I thought I read somewhere that Rob McElhenney was up for that role too but I can't find anything about it now.

LOL @ Dennis being labeled the moral compass of the show

It's always (sunny successor), Friday, 10 March 2017 11:26 (seven years ago) link

have not read that post yet but calling dennis the moral compass of the show seems like not getting the show to me

k3vin k., Friday, 10 March 2017 17:09 (seven years ago) link

he def tries to keep the rest of the gang in line

lag∞n, Friday, 10 March 2017 17:12 (seven years ago) link

lol "moral" compass is stretching it tho. voice of reason seems more accurate

k3vin k., Friday, 10 March 2017 17:16 (seven years ago) link

that wld prob be better tho even reason is a reach maybe "bossy vain one"

lag∞n, Friday, 10 March 2017 17:18 (seven years ago) link

charlie is def the moral center

k3vin k., Friday, 10 March 2017 17:19 (seven years ago) link

charlie is the only non evil gang member its true

lag∞n, Friday, 10 March 2017 17:20 (seven years ago) link

great episode and finale, I'm ok with them ending if it has to. They've had a really consistent run.
