It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

I can't imagine the jokes revolving around homosexuality have quite the same er tenor over there

i'm not sure they have the same interpretation across the different parts of north america!

watched 5/6/7 last night, feeling kind of a drop off in quality here, the murderer things esp felt like it had 0 jokes.

i've watched seasons 1-10 over the past 2-3 months and the quality is shockingly consistent. only a handful of duds throughout

Killing it this season

next week is "A Cricket's Tale," with possible redemption for our beloved street rat. I'm dubious about his chances but I hope he at least gets some revenge on the gang.

Good episode this week, nice back-to-basics feel after some of the flights of fancy this season--the tapeworm named "Jerry" was the perfect type of grossout Frank/Charlie joke.

Though I'm not sure the RPG quite rang true. It should've been something more serial killer-y, less warry.

The reason for his possible departure became more clear following Uproxx’s interview, with NBC announcing that Howerton had been cast alongside Patton Oswalt in a sitcom pilot from Seth Meyers and SNL’s Mike O’Brien called AP Bio. Should that pilot go to series, it would likely seriously cut into Howerton’s time for It’s Always Sunny, which could explain the show’s possible hiatus.

Charlie Day already has a career in films, Mac wants to work behind the camera and Dee got a sitcom...considering that Glen Howerton missed out on stuff like Guardians of the Galaxy and other films, maybe he feels like time is passing and if he wants to be something else other than Dennis - he's got to take the shot. I doubt any of those guys figured that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia would last this long anyway and still kinda be rising.

If they lay off six extra months before doing another season, it might make the debut even bigger next time.

they did a lot of character coda stuff! nothing for Frank or Dee, but the bit with Charlie and the waitress was something. and has anyone noticed that the dude who plays Cricket is a pastor on the other fx show Baskets? as if it exists in some parallel comedy universe or a world before Always Sunny

who was howard up for in Guardians?

Chris Pratt's character. I thought I read somewhere that Rob McElhenney was up for that role too but I can't find anything about it now.

great episode and finale, I'm ok with them ending if it has to. They've had a really consistent run.
