Help me identify the cover artwork on this wall I found in a photo of a bedroom on a property website.

I spotted that one, vaguely familiar from my time trolling cajun/zydeco bins.

You're going to see a lot of love. Okay? Thank you. (Dan Peterson), Thursday, 16 February 2017 16:52 (seven years ago) link

I feel like this musical aesthetic is much more cohesive.

What's the poster on the wall to the left of The Smiths?

I'm guessing it's Robert Smith, helped partially by that being the next logical member of the sequence JAMC, U2, Smiths...

Mungolian Jerryset (bendy), Friday, 9 June 2017 11:52 (six years ago) link

isn't that a face in a space helmet on the left? 2001?

StanM, Friday, 9 June 2017 11:59 (six years ago) link

yeah, looks like some sci fi movie to me

I'm pretty sure StanM is right.

If the top 21 longboxes can be identified here, it might be possible to date the video down to a few week span!

It looks like Bruce Springsteen's Lucky Town at 7 and (educated guess here) Human Touch at 6. Number 5 looks like Garth Brooks' Ropin' the Wind. The Springsteen albums came out in March 1992 and that Brooks album in September 1991. Def Leppard's Adrenalize is probably in here somewhere.

Is #12 Slaughter - "The Wild Life"?
https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/pict/152365080503_/1992-Slaughter-The-Wild-Life-Factory-Sealed-Cd.jpg

That would push us into the end of April '92. But I also thought 12 might match the middle display on the wall at the back (similar black-on-red lettering) and I think that might be something else so maybe 12 is too.

What's the one he's holding? On the table: no idea. Thought Triffids' Born Sandy Devotional for some reason, but that's never been on Island, I think.

StanM, Wednesday, 8 November 2017 20:57 (six years ago) link

He's holding The Notorious Byrd Brothers

MaresNest, Wednesday, 8 November 2017 21:03 (six years ago) link

My only guess is Systems of Romance by Ultravox for the one on the table

All of the visual appeal of beer, with none of the messy complications

Karl Malone, Sunday, 11 February 2018 16:24 (six years ago) link

On top row, Between The Buttons by The Stones and (three along from that) Hotter than July by Stevie Wonder

Jeff W, Sunday, 11 February 2018 16:25 (six years ago) link

Wow, charity shop bingo nirvana.

I can see Soundtrack to Robin Hood by Clannad, Rock Around the Clock by Bill Haley, Bizarre Fruit by M People, best of Joan Armatrading, Queen of Hearts by Dave Edmunds, Alpha by Asia for starters.

Dan Worsley, Sunday, 11 February 2018 16:28 (six years ago) link

Just ut the left of Hotter Than July, Enya's The Memory of Trees and Carole King's Tapestry.

I had a close look and it's not, there's a beardy, Robert Wyatt looking guy on the right hand side of the sleeve.

MaresNest, Sunday, 11 February 2018 21:14 (six years ago) link

Right of Hotter Than July, Eurythmics Greatest Hits

Right wall, almost bottom left corner, something by Duane Eddy

Above that, Paul Young - No Parlez

Left wall, right corner, one up from bottom, Celine Dion - Let's Talk About Love
