Yeah, that's been the sticking point since November, right? The squashing together of a buncha different demographics into something that just reinforced the pre-existing beliefs most politicos and commentators had anyway that can't be disturbed by actual post-election analyses of who did what.

I keep feeling like "working class" as a phrase is completely broken because it brings to mind this idea of industrial or manual labor, or at least workers with hourly wages as opposed to salaried positions. But a lot of the jobs at that end of the payscale (or lower, a decent union factory job can pay better) are in call centers for insurance or financial services

people are fuming about "racists in the working class" but the working class they're really talking about is people who call them about mortgage payments or the cashier at starbucks
