anyone heard of Mobdro? it's absolutely blowing my mind. streaming tv with basically everything you could want. i'm old and out of touch so more than likelyit's either a) well known/passe, or b) malware/trojan or something
― rip van wanko, Friday, 6 January 2017 21:23 (seven years ago) link
c) both ;)
As far as I know, it's as safe as the next unauthorised app. Lots (and lots) of people use it though with little (if any) reported problems.

Not been able to find it in the App Store? Only something called mobdro but for music only? Confusing.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 6 January 2017 23:54 (seven years ago) link
There's a few different apps called that in the store, I'm curious which one you're using?

It's not in the app store. I just searched mobdro app and downloadEd from a mirror It's been pretty great so far.

Mobdro apk, not app
Yeah, you'll have to sideload it as it's banned by Apple and Google.

I bought a $2 alarm clock app in which I can "record" the steps I take to my kitchen (coffee pot) and the alarm is supposed to ring until I get up and walk there each morning, but it doesn't work properly. Anyone got a good alarm clock app that does GPS well?

do smartphone GPS's work well enough to reliably/consistently measure, like, several feet? In my experience there's always been a several-meters margin of error but I haven't fucked w/ anything in a few years so ymmv

I have a big apartment, so it's a good 30 steps! I just want something that knows I am no longer in my bed. I can do math while half asleep and turn off those quiz-based alarms easily :(I fell asleep at a PJ Harvey concert once, I am a champion sleeper

I fell asleep at the Harmonia concert at le poisson rouge in 2008... while standing up
(I'd just gotten out of the hospital to be fair)

Had a thought this morning that I should start checking ebooks out of the library, and managed to do so over lunch via the OverDrive app. Pretty easy process and works great. Any other good library-associated ebook readers out there?
― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Wednesday, 27 December 2017 22:02 (six years ago) link
Overdrive is the runaway market leader there afaik

Yes, to more kinds of gray.

Why would you need an app for that? I find the native Notes app to be more than adequate.

OCR, automatic file naming etc. If you use it like once a month then notes is fine. If youβre trying to go fully paperless it is not up to the job.

yeah I have to keep copies of all the dumb paper documents I receive, because of French bureaucracy, so I need something robust for this

I don't want to speak for everyone, I have both models of the newest iphones (and before that an ancient SE) and have never encountered a problem!
Just table some anecdotal input on the native app tally for me.
