suck it ravens

mookieproof, Monday, 26 December 2016 00:39 (seven years ago) link

steelers, pats, raiders, texans win their divisions, cheifs are one wild card and fins or broncos the other. broncos in if they win out. if they win today then last games will be the 2 wildcard contenders vs 2 #1 seed contenders.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 26 December 2016 00:42 (seven years ago) link

wow p cool

lag∞n, Monday, 26 December 2016 00:54 (seven years ago) link

I am the biggest Chiefs fan tonight.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:11 (seven years ago) link

Savage era, it's a new day!

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:21 (seven years ago) link

thinking about getting into the zip neck sweater w/ buttondown game like al and cris

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:27 (seven years ago) link

with 142 passing yards, Drew Brees will reach 5,000 passing yards for the fifth time in his career.

Only 4 other QBs have done it and in their case, just once.

I realize this is a more passer friendly era than when Marino did it but still mega amazing - he'd never had more than 3,576 yards prior to joining the Saints.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:29 (seven years ago) link

underneath throws will be the name of this game

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:36 (seven years ago) link

Kansas City basically ran it up Denver's ass there

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:43 (seven years ago) link

Siemian has underthrown p much every pass

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:48 (seven years ago) link

i am rooting for a huge game from KC defense

Mordy, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:55 (seven years ago) link

Denver v much dogshit at stopping the run so far

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:56 (seven years ago) link

maybe hill can replicate that on a kick return (or two)

Mordy, Monday, 26 December 2016 01:56 (seven years ago) link

Drew Brees played for Marty Schottenheimer in San Diego, not exactly an air 'em out kinda coach.

earlnash, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:05 (seven years ago) link

oh I know - the New Orleans offense obv inflated his #s, but still amazing at his productivity. it's not like that last year in San Diego was considered disappointing by any means.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:07 (seven years ago) link

well that sucked

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:09 (seven years ago) link

give it to Christian Okoye

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:11 (seven years ago) link

did Denver have a rough flight or something

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:12 (seven years ago) link

Looking back at it, it is amazing that the Chargers were as good as they were in 2006 with Rivers as a first year starter. Everything went totally south in the playoff game against NE and that was the end of that even though they went 14-2.

earlnash, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:12 (seven years ago) link

had dude just batted that ball into the turf, coulda changed everything that year

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:14 (seven years ago) link

no defenses averaging less than 300 yards surrendered this year. huh.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:27 (seven years ago) link

per game obv

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:28 (seven years ago) link

Denver getting nickle and dimed to death when they're not giving up 40 yard gains on vanilla plays

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 02:28 (seven years ago) link

Kansas City doing its best to let Denver claw back into this one.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 03:06 (seven years ago) link

that was an....interesting fake.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 03:10 (seven years ago) link

like I get why you wouldn't wanna miss and give it to them at the 42 but like did you really think McManus was gonna outrun 4-5 motherfuckers

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 03:15 (seven years ago) link

Hahahahahahahah you guys that play

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 04:46 (seven years ago) link

I am dying

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 04:46 (seven years ago) link

it was a treat. such a dagger. brutal finish to the season for denver

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 26 December 2016 04:48 (seven years ago) link

I cannot believe my Fins are playoff bound. Wow.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 04:49 (seven years ago) link

Also Denver getting Romo would be such an Elway move but even he ain't that dumb

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 04:50 (seven years ago) link

i guess you get the steelers instead of the houston bye tho

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 26 December 2016 04:56 (seven years ago) link

Yea probably.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 04:57 (seven years ago) link

KC's wideouts are still really bad. Smith hit them a few times right in the numbers only to get dropped.

earlnash, Monday, 26 December 2016 18:18 (seven years ago) link

Pittsburgh seems to me the only club with a shot of having with NE.

earlnash, Monday, 26 December 2016 18:20 (seven years ago) link

Hanging...

earlnash, Monday, 26 December 2016 18:20 (seven years ago) link

We'll see. NE really hasn't been tested much this year. I'm not convinced they're super prepared for playoff-level football.

Al Moon Faced Poon (Moodles), Monday, 26 December 2016 18:29 (seven years ago) link

home field advantage obvs huge, agree pitt is the real threat

lag∞n, Monday, 26 December 2016 18:44 (seven years ago) link

pittsburgh has looked like a totally different (not as good) team on the road

Mordy, Monday, 26 December 2016 18:46 (seven years ago) link

feel like the steelers are capable of scoring 30 against new england while giving up 50

mookieproof, Monday, 26 December 2016 18:51 (seven years ago) link

IMO the real threats to New England are (unfortunately) in the NFC, including Atlanta- their offense is one of the best modern offenses of all-time, statistically speaking (according to this thingy I read today). but it's a matter of them getting there obv, and in one piece, cos their defense doesn't scare anybody so anybody missing on O could turn things (in fact, same article pointed out that there isn't an elite defense in the playoffs of the current entrants).

Kansas City seems to always enjoy relying on their tight ends year in and out to do all the lifting at receiver. the drops last night were ridiculous (though technically, Harris had the one in the end zone and he's a TE). I don't really see Kansas City pulling off what they did at Denver last night, cos Denver was unusually porous and allowed big gains on vanilla plays. plus Denver was still somewhat in the game at halftime despite their offense looking like dogshit. Kansas City looks a lot more like the teams that were getting into the playoffs in like, 2003, which isn't a good thing for them.

IMO they should let Carr play in a motorized scooter to make things fair.

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 18:55 (seven years ago) link

KC defense + special teams are much more impressive than their offense

Mordy, Monday, 26 December 2016 18:57 (seven years ago) link

also re: being tested, New England did have the second weakest strength of schedule in the league (second only to my Dolphins, lolz), and it's strength of victory is the second weakest among the current playoff entrants (again, second to my Fins). Not that I put a huge amount of stock in that - you can only beat who you play, they've been dominant in those wins (unlike Miami), and it's not like they don't have 15 years of proof that they're always a threat in the playoffs.

but, like Miami, the only playoff team they've beat this year is Pittsburgh, as they lost to the only other one they faced (Seattle). still not seeing who would be the obvious team to take them out in the AFC, as pointed out above, Pittsburgh is inconsistent as hell and obv Oakland is a diff team without Carr (tho who knows!).

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 19:02 (seven years ago) link

wld feel a lot better if gronk was still alive

lag∞n, Monday, 26 December 2016 19:06 (seven years ago) link

maybe Aaron Hernandez can get a furlough

Neanderthal, Monday, 26 December 2016 19:15 (seven years ago) link

it's more "fuck you, you had ten men on the field when Ajayi won the game moments after you punted with less than a minute to go when a tie would have eliminated you" from the owner IMO

Neanderthal, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 17:28 (seven years ago) link

reasonable

lag∞n, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 17:31 (seven years ago) link

yeah I guess if any coach deserves a grand "fuck you" gesture it's Rex

frogbs, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 17:33 (seven years ago) link

shdve had belichick make the call tho

lag∞n, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 17:36 (seven years ago) link

sic semper rex

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 17:39 (seven years ago) link

Rex Ryan - defensive coordinator for the Bears. Seems a very neoptism friendly McCaskey hire.

earlnash, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 18:11 (seven years ago) link

no surprise obviously but ouch @ the timing of this, what's the point of firing a coach with one game to go

apparently because rex wanted to play tyrod taylor in a meaningless game against his hated jets this week, and ownership didn't want to risk taylor getting hurt

mookieproof, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 20:46 (seven years ago) link

ha his pettiness got him fired

lag∞n, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 22:16 (seven years ago) link

his pettiness over getting fired got him fired

lag∞n, Tuesday, 27 December 2016 22:17 (seven years ago) link

i guess cowboys are sitting their starters and they're starting mark sanchez instead of romo. they claim it's bc they don't want to risk injuring romo behind the 2nd team o-line but i wonder if teams will be shy about signing him for next year if they see him sit. like maybe he's still not healthy?

Mordy, Wednesday, 28 December 2016 01:13 (seven years ago) link

i really enjoy tampa's playoff scenario:

TB beats CAR at home
DET beats GB at home
WAS ties NYFG at home
SF beats SEA at home
DAL wins at PHI
TEN beats HOU at home
IND beats JAX at home

i wasn't expecting two AFC games to matter (due to TB vs GB strength of schedule). it's not even *that* far-fetched except for the tie and the niners beating seattle
