the first example that comes to mind is Ally's wet-t-shirt carwash to benefit breast cancer research (sorry, Ally) i.e. when the formal properties of a concept or word or action either contradict or undermine the thrust of the argument it's supposed to be making

Past you, present you, future you; your relationship to chronology, and doing future you a favour
there's no benefit to present me in doing anything for future me.
not like the dude is ever going to be able to pay me back, is it?

heard the best of from billie jo spears, and i have no idea who she is,but from the 60s, i would guess,. her blanket on the ground is sexier, racier, and more honest then the ticks song, 35 years later, and mr walker its all over is a nice slab of femminist fuck you.
anyone know abuother

Nope, but she had a track (maybe the blanket one!) on an $2.00 LP comp called Country Crossovers that I was too cheap to buy in Smithfield. Maybe I should have. (Also, what "ticks song"?? I wouldn't expect ticks to be sexy, just kinda itchy.)

(Also been listening to Billie Jo Spears' 1975 Blanket On The Ground, another $1 find, which just strikes me as way more sexy than country nowadays, even though Paisley also sang about doing it outside in "Ticks" couple years back I guess. Getting the idea country lost something along the way, and maybe it's worth talking about here.)

This song seems so mysterious, so freighted with meaning, it's almost cabalistic.
So WTF is it actually about??
