seven months pass...

Sheryl Crow's first 3 albums (I only really know the 1st one but they are all SO DAMN GOOD)
readjusting to long-term single life after the initial thrill has worn off (don't worry it's a good and healthy thing and I like it)
the herbs I just planted in some containers, v excited 2 care 4 them
the continued trend away from IPAs and towards lagers, and the fact that my local bottle shop now has like 10 or 12 diff local pilsner/helles/marzen lagers and cream ales where last year they had, like, 2? 3?

reading through the last 15 years of Love & Rockets
less movies and more TV (currently: Kill la Kill, Twin Peaks, Neon Genesis Evangelion, House of Cards, Sense8, Dear White People, Jessica Jones, Master of None, Mad Men)
that being said, also movies shot + set in Hong Kong in the 80s and 90s

  • jean paul gaultier fleur du male
  • nice new roommate who i actually connect with
  • topo chico alone and as a mixer
  • working for a healthy polyamorous relationship with my main dude and my other long-distance dude
  • seeing how long i can grow my beard until i get sick of it or my work tells me to stop
  • my new work location at the tea shop with a buncha queers and smartasses whom i love working with and where i feel supported and wanted
  • adding to my disco/boogie/80s r&b playlist on spotify
  • complaining about S9 of drag race and how boring the lip syncs are
  • feeling comfortable that i don't fit into the IML scene and not giving a fuck

Sometimes, I wish I was still a drinker, as I've noticed the turn away from IPAs myself. Even though I don't drink anymore, I still like to browse the craft beers at Whole Foods just to see what's out there. My two favorite beers ever were the North Coast Scrimshaw Pilsner and the Rogue Kell's Irish Lager (later renamed just Irish Style Lager). When I was quitting drinking a couple years back, the trend seemed to be gravitating towards Belgian styles (Abbeys, Tripels, Witbiers and the like — all good stuff, from what I recall). Anyway.

Things I'm into as of late—

—cheap chorus pedals
—quinoa
—binge watching live TV bloopers on You Tube
—reverb
—more reverb
—Alice Coltrane

Gaspard de la Nuit: III. ScarJost (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 5 August 2017 01:40 (six years ago) link

It's what I need to learn. Think it might come down to having a good sized workspace, organised veg storage so I can find everything and a sharp good knife. Also getting knife technique down.
So I need to tidy my kitchen.

A song I have been listening a lot to recently: "I Believe in You" by Talk Talk. How the instruments seem to hang in the air in the beginning and everything evolves from there, that's amazing and never bores me. One listen per day of this song just before going to bed is becoming a daily routine for me which is no routine at all as there is still so much to discover in there. The choir alone is such a miracle of beauty. In the beginning I did not hear it as a choir, I thought it was a synth line. Etc.

vegemitegrrl try this recipe, i implore you: https://food52.com/recipes/37430-sriracha-lime-corn-salad

I am into my new Bluetooth hearing aids bcz I can control them from my iPhone (like change the settings and volume), also it will stream phone calls and music to my hearing aids like Bluetooth headphones, also this means that when I watch stuff on my Roku and use the iPhone app as the remote and turn on the private listening, I can just listen right in my hearing aids??? no more subtitles! v exciting.
