thank you!

i won't be getting to this tonight, but sometime within the next couple of days. i'll be starting with volume 4. if that's o.k., or should i start from the beginning?

so anyway, when i go to feed this into itunes and edit the tags, should the artist be crazy fucking landlady's son? also, since i keep my mp3s categorized by genre now, this should fall under obscuro, shouldn't it? oh, and do the songs have names at all? and i think i've gathered that this is a four-part set...?

oh, and you're totally like this dude's manager now or something.

dream torture (blood bitch), Monday, 8 January 2007 00:43 (seventeen years ago) link

Vahid, can I mirror these somewhere?

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 8 January 2007 00:45 (seventeen years ago) link

dmr (Renard), Monday, 8 January 2007 00:48 (seventeen years ago) link

i am soooo psyched for volume 4.

also, i have it labelled as Crazy Fucking Landlady's Son in itunes. i named the the original volume 'Do You Like Funky Music?' and i will not change that title because it brings me too much joy.

the table is the table (treesessplode), Monday, 8 January 2007 04:45 (seventeen years ago) link

vahid, not planning on telling anyone really. Just downloaded it to my web host so that I can preview the mp3s without having to download the zips at work.

They are available unzipped, here: (the first two discs, at least)

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 8 January 2007 04:50 (seventeen years ago) link

vahid (vahid), Monday, 8 January 2007 05:03 (seventeen years ago) link

still waiting on vol 3 ... i may have to re-up them to sendspace ... =(

vahid (vahid), Monday, 8 January 2007 05:38 (seventeen years ago) link

moroccan cruise is more like 'LA marijuana haze.' that's not a bad thing, though.

the table is the table (treesessplode), Monday, 8 January 2007 05:48 (seventeen years ago) link

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 05:14 (seventeen years ago) link

I find I'm liking the ones with less guitar the best

e.g. vol. 3 track 8

track 7 on moroccan cruise w/ the horns is pretty hot

I have only listened to 3 and 4 so far

dmr (Renard), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 05:57 (seventeen years ago) link

so is winzip the wrong thing to use to extract these? i'm getting an error message.

Hoosteen (Hoosteen), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 07:39 (seventeen years ago) link

I used WinRAR on Vol 4 and it was happy.

Edward III (edward iii), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:42 (seventeen years ago) link

This is so awesome... I really like a bunch of these tracks so far (just started vol 4). Seriously, please, vahid, snap a photo of this guy.

Andi Headphones (Andi Headphones), Thursday, 18 January 2007 19:54 (seventeen years ago) link

if you're having probs opening it, try

changing the filename?
upgrading to a new version of stuffit?
downloading off andrew's server mirror?

vahid (vahid), Thursday, 18 January 2007 20:07 (seventeen years ago) link

one month passes...
These are so great. Any chance for more?

EZ Snappin, Friday, 2 March 2007 02:59 (seventeen years ago) link

i've sort of fallen out of touch with l1am and the rest of the b1ckfords. if i ever bump into him on the street i'll ask for the other eight (!) volumes.

i can re-up 1-4 if you want any of those ...

moonship journey to baja, Friday, 2 March 2007 07:47 (seventeen years ago) link

I managed to snag 1-4 when you re-upped them. I just went back to them earlier in the week and found so much to like that I wanted even more. Scary to think they're just 1/3 of the planned opus.

Did you ever share them with the Aquarius guys or anyone else? I think they definitely have a certain something that could find an audience.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 2 March 2007 15:54 (seventeen years ago) link

what did you guys call this in yr iTunes?

artist: crazy landlady's son
album: in the fucking shed, bro

gbx, Friday, 2 March 2007 16:01 (seventeen years ago) link

^ lolz

i'm just listening to this now... sick

sleep, Friday, 2 March 2007 16:44 (seventeen years ago) link

I called the artist CFLS and the albums are the titles he gave (Moroccan Cruise etc)

the ones with kids playing and yelling and phones ringing in the background are maybe the weirdest
