it reminds me of real estate if they had an entirely different set of influences.

also i wanna live in the chorus to 'No Matter Where We Go'

I can take you out
I wanna drive around
With you with the windows down
And we can run all night

Yeah this album grew on me a lot. Whenever the horns show up>>>>>

Dave's Song or the title track are my favorites probably

five months pass...

Just saw them last night at the Independent. So good! Dude hit a couple of bum notes, but it's gotta be hard to sing exclusively in a falsetto. The rest of the band was tight, and it's always cool to see a band with a drummer as the lead singer. They sold out three shows at the Independent, and seemed incredibly stoked to be there. A lot of grumpy talk about how much Coachella sucked, which got old, but whatever. The band was tight, the lead guitar playing was perfect, and the trumpet sounded great (and the trumpetist was playing the rest of the horn section parts with his left hand on a keyboard!).

have you heard the woods album from this year, J0rdan? it's a bit more 70's but pairs nicely with this one (and not just because one plays after the other on my itunes cuz of their alphabetical proximity heh)

Sounds like a great show!

I went to a Whitney show last week, and was pretty disappointed. Maybe they were just near the end of a long tour, but they seemed pretty frazzled. The drummer/singer dude in particular seemed emotionally delicate, like he might go Cat Power at any moment. Drumming and singing is obviously incredibly difficult for anyone, but he was definitely having a hard time of it.

It seemed like five minutes of stage talk before every two minute song, and shit just got annoying. Maybe I was just grumpy that night, but I left before the end of the show when he stopped a song in the middle in order to call some random dude up on stage to sing with them before starting the song over.

Still love the album though

Anyone digging the new one?

I’m digging it. Need a few more listens to really have a take other than it’s chill and pretty. Not sure if there are any No Womans or Golden Days on it yet. I like Giving Up quite a bit though.

Guess I overlooked the first one & need to revisit it. Love everything about "Forever Turned Around" other than that it's over almost too soon, not that it feels like it should be any longer. Quickly becoming a favorite release from 2019.

Read your post just as the last track wrapped up and I was like “that’s it?”

DJI, Wednesday, 4 September 2019 16:07 (four years ago) link

Kinda like how it's almost tempting me to spin it twice in a row every time I play it.
