I started feeling some regrets about participating in this thread and the morality of it all, it's a different thing if Wayne himself would've put the pics online (thus accepting the fact random strangers may comment upon them), but he doesn't necessarily even know they're there. What would you suppose he'd really think if he'd find this thread? Thankfully there are some nice thoughts here as well.

The podcast got me thinking about this again, I'm kinda relieved it ends the way it does.

Though I kinda feel they exaggerate the obsession over "Wayne" in this thread (and yeah, I know I'm not exacly unbiased here), they basically say it's been going on for 10 years and people are still reviving it and wondering what happened to the guy, and they conveniently ignore the fact that it was mostly revived to talk about other "so not gonna happen" pics, not about the original dude.

i think it cut to the bone for me thinking about m4riss4 and b1mbl3, but i think the podcast is really well presented regardless if the listeners knows of ilxor or not

From what I remember about the original pic, it was interesting to overanalyse it for a few days, but to me it was mostly just this fun Sherlockian game, trying to deduce as much as possible from the few details we had available. I didn't really care about "Wayne" or what he represents, and when the other pics were discovered and it became more clear what was going on in the original one, I lost interest in the whole thing, because the game was finished. I certainly didn't spend years afterwards wondering what happened to the guy, though maybe some other people who participated here did?

Yeah, the podcast guys made it pretty clear that the whole thing was weird and creepy. But then they got sucked in too.

...& took the weird + creepy thing further, and published it on a monetized platform... but it's all cool, no harm really and nothing any of us wouldn't mind being on the other end of, right?
