As far as I know he just wants to avoid being demographically & culturally replaced

these are all Varg's own words from his website.

if it hadn't been for "anti-racists" spreading their lies in Norway and elsewhere in the European world we would not have suffered from all the problems we face today because of racism. Adoptive parents are not "evil" or want to hurt their adopted children, but even the most selfish of them would think twice about adopting children from another race if they understood the laws of nature and the consequences of them. They don't understand this because they have been mislead by the massive lie-propaganda (regarding the "multicultural" society's imaginary virtues) that we are all exposed to on a daily basis in schools, in the media, in adverts and everywhere else too.

I have to stress too that Islam and Muslims are not the main threat to us. They are just a means used by Jews (who let them into Europe in the first place) to mongrelize us and finish us off as a race, and not least to make us fight for the Jews in their criminal wars. Our true enemy is the Jews! Never forget that!

If you want to hang someone or shoot them in the back of the head, for betraying their own race or for attacking out nations with coward and dishonest means, I understand you very well, but please wait until after we have won, when you can do this lawfully. There is enough rope for all of them, and bullets too, so just be patient. They will hang soon enough anyhow. And their brainwashed offspring too. And their f***ing dogs.

there's much more in this vein there. you'd have to be pretty stupid to spin this as "oh, he just wants his own race not to be 'demographically and culturally replaced'"

Is Varg the Wicked Witch of the West?

jmm, Monday, 24 October 2016 02:13 (seven years ago) link

joan crawford otm. however, i'd add that wanting to "avoid being demographically & culturally replaced" as a white person is a poisonous attitude in itself. i'm afraid this kind of sentiment will creep into mainstream discourse in america now that the so called "alt right" has a larger platform. it needs to be stamped out whenever it rears its head.

imo the fear of being "demographically & culturally replaced" as an _american_ is some crazy shit because things keep changing

there was some article from a hundred years ago where people were going on about these bizarre ethnic foods, and how they're such a weird fringe thing. it was about hot dogs.

I don't think he has much contact with the metal scene, he lives far away in rural France, self-releases everything and doesn't tour.

I mean musically his influence on modern metal is immense but nobody seems to like him much as a person.

I encourage you to go to bandcamp and explore the genre "dungeon synth," which I have love for being a veteran of the lo-fi wars but which you, I suspect, will lol at for years

http://www.factmag.com/2016/10/21/sky-ferreira-jonas-akerlund-lords-of-chaos/

Sky Ferreira isn’t the first name that springs to mind when you think of Norwegian black metal overlords Mayhem, but the grunge-pop Playboy cover star will soon be helping to bring the band’s controversial story to life on the big screen.

Ferreira has been cast in Lemonade director Jonas Åkerlund’s upcoming movie Lords of Chaos, which is based on the 1998 book of the same name by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind. As Deadline reports, the film, which Åkerlund co-wrote with Swedish scriptwriter Dennis Magnusson, documents the band’s career in the early ‘90s when they were associated with violent acts of varying extremes, from bringing sheep heads on stage to burning down churches. The film also covers the period following the band’s split after the murder of Øystein Aarseth by his then-bandmate Varg Vikernes, aka Burzum.

woah dungeon synth is a deep internet hole!
some of it is kind charming, insane amount! some weird russian label had like 60+ releases on bandcamp
found some that was a lot better than varg's stuff & i guess if they are just sad eastern european dudes not racist murderers i'm more inclined to be kind

Yes please. Any specific recommendations for dungeon synth? Daudi Baldrs is my favourite Burzum disc, love Aghast, I quite like some of Mortiis' dungeon music era and I really like it when metal types do purely atmospheric stuff. Moevot sounded alright in places.

i like this, got a nice dark atmosphere to it and a nice sense of melody, way better than the burzum i mentioned above

thought i dunno, i don't trust any of these motherfuckers, i feel like i'm just gonna find out they are all racist

I only dip into dungeon synth occasionally. There's Lord Wind, the folk/synth offshoot of Graveland doing yer olde "swords & sorcery B-movie soundtrack" thing with gusto. A lot better than the metal he does these days, definitely.

You might also like the stuff that's more 'space' than 'dungeon':
Basarabian Hills
Elderwind
Lustre

my favorite dungeon-ish dudes are Uruk-Hai (who really branches out a lot) and Erang. Lord Wind's a nazi tho right S?

Basarabian Hills are kind of great, they released an album this year. It's really good if you like humility and limitations in your wild forest music

imago, Wednesday, 26 October 2016 16:37 (seven years ago) link

fwiw i was trying to argue up there that music about forests is fascist. if you are writing songs about forests, you are making nazi music.

argh you can't keep the "fascist themes unspoken". are you singing about forests?? you are a nazi!! this is crystal clear.

re: lord wind, this is the type of semantic, convoluted b.s. that p much means "yeah dude is a nazi" to me

Darken has been accused of being a neo-Nazi. However, he has made statements to contradict this accusation, even speaking out against the Third Reich and their ideology: "I do not see any point in referring to NS because I do not see any point in referring to any ideologies that lost. It is against logic and eternal law of evolution"[3] and "If you are White proud of being White and proud of your forefathers faith, if you politically incorrect, if you dare to criticize the politicians and it you point at the existence of a strong powerful Jewish lobby supporting Israel – you are called nazi and anti-Semite. And the special institution start to persecute you. I am called ‘Nazi” but no one has any proof of my nazi background. They just repeat once heard someone else words having no proof of it."[4] and "In Poland many people refer to Slavonic heritage as many refer to German. And I think that those who refer to Slavonic culture are the majority but they do not make big show of it. For me there is no difference between pagan beliefs of Vikings and Slavs. The names are different but the core is the same. Different stories but the same Gods with the same attributes. The ideologist of the Third Reich were responsible for the division between German Aryan world and Slavonic world. They distorted the historical facts in order to separate from Eastern world. Communist did the same but they of course favouritized [sic!] Slavs."[

"description of Hillary CENSORED..Too Truthful"

The funny thing is I suspect Varg is even more marginalized in mainstream Norway as he would appear to be from a US perpsective. During '08, I remember talking to my Norwegian friends, and although they were happy to see Obama winning, it was also a matter of "no matter who the US president is, he and the country will still be a lot more conservative than us".

Dominique, Friday, 11 November 2016 16:19 (seven years ago) link

am0n, Friday, 11 November 2016 16:36 (seven years ago) link

makes sense I guess, seems like a pretty isolated guy. He had a video about Fenriz and Darkthrone the other day, and it basically sounded like he hadn't talked to him in years. These (mostly rambling and not interesting IMO) videos seem as much him talking to himself as anyone else.

Dominique, Friday, 11 November 2016 16:50 (seven years ago) link

Yeah dude lives in a tiny hamlet in rural France. Also took his wife's last name, he now goes by Louis Cachet. Frankly I'm not that interested until he starts doing metal again, Fallen was really good but he seems to focus on useless shit like these vlogs, board games and new-agey soundtrack work.
