4th and 22 with a minute and a half to go, he had to go for it. Rivers nailed the pass before on 3rd but the WR didn't hang on to the ball.
Elliot was looking more than a bit like Emmitt today with the #21 and banging between the tackles. Dallas O-line is back into the zone they were two years ago, they were just blowing the Niners off the line down the stretch. It kind of reminds me of the Seahawks from a few years ago where their O-line was just so dominant, with the big back, having a rookie QB didn't even matter as they could dominate any D in front of them. Maybe playing a less pass happy game with Romo might have been a smarter way to go, being forced into it and with the lack of the picks happening, it's working fine with Dak Prescott. Similar thing could have been said of the Broncos with Manning, who kept throwing it 40 times a game, when only throwing 25 and running the clock behind their line and Defense would have been better strategy.
