11-5 last week...not terrible, not fantastic. Rams are obviously not any good at all on offense.
Thursday 9/15Jets @ Bills - Hard to believe in the Jets, but they did play the Bengals tough and I think they are one of the better clubs. I'll take the Jets, but this is a rivalry game that often goes either way. I'd bet it will be a fugly game and probably kinda unwatchable.
Sunday 9/18Saints @ Giants- Neither clubs defense looked that hot last week. I'd figure Giants at home.Titans @ Lions- Lions played well and won on the road. I figure this will be kind of a slug 'em game but I will take the Lions.Cowboys @ Hatcats- If the Hatcats can't beat the Cowboys at home with a rookie QB, they suck. Dallas might be more talented and could win if they limit mistakes and control the clock. Turnovers probably the difference.Chiefs @ Texans- Texans looked pretty good on D, but it was the Bears piece meal o-line. This is probably a pretty good game. I'd figure Houston is the favorite, but give me KC in a slight upset. Dolphins @ Pats- Pats even without Brady and Gronk still have an aura and people play stupid against them. This is a game Miami has to win, you have to beat the Pats without Brady. Thing is I don't know they get it done, give me the Pats.Ravens @ Browns- Ravens in a fugly game. Niners @ Panthers- SF's defense definitely looked like it got it's mojo back in week 1, it will be interesting to see if it's real or not. I'd figure Panthers either way.Bengals @ Steelers- This is a pretty huge game for week 2. For the Bengals, it's always about beating the Steelers for the division. Steelers looked great and the Bengals toughed out a road win. This probably should be the game of the week, but they will probably show the f-in Cowboys. I'm going to be a homer and go with Cincy.Bucs @ Cards- Bucs got a win and the Cards got some angst in losing to the Pats without Gronk and Brady. I'd figure the Cards get their mojo back and win at home.Seahawks @ Rams- Seahawks. Rams got to give a bit more or Fisher is toast (and he probably is anyway at this point). Falcons @ Raiders- Ballsy win for the Raiders. Defense gave up a ton of points. I'd figure Raiders at home.Jags @ Chargers- This seems like a pretty even matchup. I'd figure SD at home. Close is not good enough Jags.Colts @ Broncos- Colts D looks weak and they don't really have much running game. Broncos D looks as good as ever. I so want to take the Colts, but I don't buy them. Broncos it is, inexperienced QB or not.Pack @ Vikings- Big game for Vikings in the division. I think Green Bay is a tough match for Minnesota as if they get down 10 it's done as they probably as of yet can't pass their way back into a game. Green Bay isn't all that, but I will take them to win.
Monday September 19thEagles @ Bears- Wentz and the Eagles made a statement. Bears had moments of looking ok in week one. I hope the Bears win which is why I am picking the Eagles.

my feeling from week 1 is the jets might be a 10 win team and the bills might be a 6 win team. figure this game will be a decent calibration one way or the other.
very interested in the cincy vs pburgh game of course. steelers defense didn't look like it did much vs wash except catch the ball when cousins threw it to them. maybe they can ruffle dalton, idk. decent chance this game boils down to brown vs green
chiefs texans could be a reasonable scrap. equine bowl will be interesting but based on what we know about them so far it looks like a v favourable match up for denver. pack and vikings should be very interesting provided the vikes qb situation doesn't explode on them.
ne have split last 3 years with miami but always home team winning, 8 years since miami won in foxboro. i think miami might be v bad. if pats can gameplan the miami def front out of the equation that should seal it.
actually a p enticing slate of games. will be back in the uk, hope i can catch some of it.

So, Buffalo is actually good? Or just getting lucky breaks?

these teams suck
― call all destroyer, Friday, 16 September 2016 02:41 (seven years ago) link
yeah these teams both seem like they have problems but game does have an erratic TNF feel to it so who knows
― Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 16 September 2016 02:44 (seven years ago) link
i think the thing i wouldn't count on in the future is buffalo hitting multiple deep shots every game

not sure at this point if rex will even be a good coordinator next year. maybe he goes straight into the studio.
― Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 16 September 2016 03:15 (seven years ago) link
Jets offense looks improved and their D-line looks sufficient against the run.
― earlnash, Friday, 16 September 2016 03:23 (seven years ago) link
on the one hand the bills should have more time on the clock and all their timeouts to try to stop the jets instead of trying the onside. on the other, the onside kick seems the higher percentage plays vs forcing a 3 and out for these guys.
― Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 16 September 2016 03:31 (seven years ago) link
if the bills don't win in LA there is a decent chance they are 0-10 when the jags come to town thanksgiving weekend

we can only hope

Either Jets o-line is amazing or Bills d-line is atrocious or some combination of the two, because Forte was running through some fucking huge holes tonight.
― Mr. Snrub, Friday, 16 September 2016 03:51 (seven years ago) link
very unenthused about football this year. what should i try to watch this week to reverse that... bengals / steelers I guess? maybe birds/raiders?
― thrusted pelvis-first back (ulysses), Friday, 16 September 2016 09:36 (seven years ago) link
@AdamSchefterBuffalo Bills firing OC Greg Roman, per league sources. Roman was NFL's top paid OC.

can that be performance based? i mean, scoring points is the only thing they did well. i hope he actually got fired for calling rex out as the embarrassing charlatan he is in a high volume yelling match. maybe a helmet got thrown, who can say?

Wentz looks quite good. He's got a strong arm and seems to be very accurate. Then again Nick Foles looked pretty good when he got started too, so I guess give it a bit.
