Batista vs Undertaker could be the worst booking ever.

Cena vs Orton and Batista vs Kennedy is probably their best option. Oh, yeah, Lashley vs RVD lol

Cena vs Orton would be great from a fan psychology viewpoint. Batista vs Kennedy would probably mean Booker vs Taker then and Booker doesn't deserve to be "rewarded" by being squashed by Taker.

At this point, I'm pulling for RAW to become worst and worst, so needless to say, I was pretty happy reading about the Rosie vs Donald debacle yesterday.

The only WM main event that would get me interested is Edge vs HBK, but I really don't see that happening. At this point, they might as well put all their eggs in one basket and do Cena vs Batista.

Undertaker vs Umaga, surely?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 17:37 (seventeen years ago) link

Actually, does the WWE have *any* money matches left?

Vince McMahon vs Undertaker

Already done, remember? Ended with a Buried Alive match.

Hogan vs Austin

If we're limited to picking from the active roster, then they still have Cena vs Batista (although the match will suck). There are a bunch of potential money matches involving HBK vs Smackdown wrestlers -- I'm sure a lot of people would pay to see HBK vs Taker: HIAC II, for example.

But I could always watch HBK vs Taker HIAC: The Original on DVD at half speed!

So the Smackdown spoilers seem to indicate Batista/Taker at WMania... Batista ends the streak in a "respect match", and then goes on to retire injured in October. Fantastic.

two weeks pass...
You know, Taker vs Cena seems pretty money right now.

alex in montreal (alex in montreal), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 04:17 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm not really feeling that. They've feuded a couple of times already (OK, it was before Cena became a huge star, but still) and right now Batista needs that rub a lot more than Cena does.

OTOH, I've been hoping for Shawn to move to SD for a while now, and now the timing couldn't be better with HHH out for a while. The past week has shown just how many more interesting matchups (besides Cena) Shawn could have if he left RAW (which will never happen, unfortunately).

October 5th this year will be the 10th anniversary of the original Hell In A Cell, so that would be an obvious time to run Taker/Michaels...

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 1 February 2007 17:25 (seventeen years ago) link

Cena/Undertaker is a bad idea because the E have had enough trouble with guys (Angle, Jericho, HHH) deliberately working face against him to make him look like an idiot. Heel Taker would get face heat regardless, so it's just gonna damage him.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 1 February 2007 17:27 (seventeen years ago) link

I think we're at least six months past the need to worry about Cena being damaged by the face or heel heat he might get. He gets the biggest reactions of anyone on the roster regardless of his opponent.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Friday, 2 February 2007 13:03 (seventeen years ago) link

You say that, but would you give him a match against a one-shotter like The Rock or Hogan?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 2 February 2007 13:06 (seventeen years ago) link

Sure, why not? What does it matter if he gets booed in a one-time only dream match. Everyone involved would be too busy counting their money to care about the heel/face fallout from Rock vs Cena.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Friday, 2 February 2007 16:05 (seventeen years ago) link

I think at this point, Cena can only gain fans, not lose them. I mean, he's winning some people over by working hard and busting his ass despite being pretty much the most hated pushed babyface in a long time. On top of that, his fans (yes, women and children) have shown that they'll stick by him no matter how "uncool" portions of the audience try to make him out to be.

Taker/Cena works for me because Cena has shown with the Umaga feud that he does well in the underdog role and he's way in over his head seemingly against a legend like Taker, especially with The Streak. Batista/Taker is kinda intriguing but Batista has lost too much steam at this point.
