"One, two, three, four, five
Everybody in the car, so come on, let's ride
To the video shoot down the street
We hear it's gonna be totally neat!"

As soon as we walked into the white, bright soundstage our feet started tappin' to the groovy mambo sounds of Lou Bega's "Disney Mambo #5." This new version of his hit song "Mambo #5" is featured on Walt Disney Records' new CD, Radio Disney Jams 2, and the video shoot was in full swing when we arrived.

Lou's Backing BandLou was there in his white zoot suit dancing and singing to a backing band made up of six cool kids - Robert on drums, Tyler on bass, and Clarisse, "Fuzzy," Jenny, and Angelica on horns. We watched them perform the song over and over and over so the cameramen could get a bunch of different shots. When the director yelled, "Take 5, everybody," we said, "A little bit of Lou Bega's all we need," and mamboed over to ask him these quick questions:

Why did you decide to record a Disney version of "Mambo #5"?
Disney sent a sample of the song to me with the new lyrics and asked if I would sing it. I grew up with Disney-just like any other kid-so I said "Sure." I haven't done another version of "Mambo #5." I've been asked to do it for chips (commercials), but I would rather do it for kids.

What's been your favorite part of filming the video?
Well, we're not done yet, but I think dancing with the kids will be fun-I've been watching them practice their dance routine.

We hear you're going to be dancing with Mickey and Donald too - who do you think is a better dancer?
Between Mickey and Donald? I would say Donald - he's my guy. I remember my mother and I used to read his comics when I was a kid. I had at least 80 of them in my collection, but my mom dumped them out 'cause I wasn't doing well in school.

And now you collect fedoras. Which one of those cool hats is your favorite?
Let's put it this way-if you have 10 or 15 children, who's your favorite? It's hard to pick, but I like the white hat I'm wearing today.

Which one of the Disney characters do you think would look cool in a fedora?
Donald-he's not so serious.

What style tips would you give him to go with his cool new look?
Wear shoes!

The only other song I know of with my name in it is a German marching song featured in the opening scene of Schindler's List. I'll take Mambo #5 any day.

some people on this board would make love to him just because of his hit song. this is wrong and it has to stop now

hey lou, if you wrote those sorry messages, you must be really juvenile.
Yes folks, Lou Bega was on these boards trying to make himself look like something he is NOT...nice.
this man is stuck on thyself.
He goes from one woman to another in a casual sort of way , thinking that every woman is waiting on the line for him.
who is this guy? the man has no personality.
He is non-plus on stage and the man isn't right for me.
He loves cats. Cool.
