yeah it's good. it's different than the other albums but it's better than the shaneless album that came after it certainly.

It's strange, but I met this record at the height of my Pogues mania too in '94, and I liked this very much then, though haven't listened many times since. 'Tuesday Morning' was a good song, I also liked 'Sitting On Top Of The World' and 'Smell Of Petroleum'. Jem Finer is a very good and underrated songwriter - not the class of MacGowan, but who is? Also liked Spider Stacy as a vocalist.

Wow. According to Wikipedia, 'Tuesday Morning' is the most successful Pogues-single internationally, and the only one to make the US Hot 100.

Me too. It was the Pogue Mahone tour though, but they played some old Pogues songs as well, and they were great too.

haha - ditto. I used to love 'Tuesday Morning'. I remember it getting a lot of airplay on 120 Minutes and local alterna stations. Great bassline IIRC.

I believe if it says "The Pogues" it's safe to say Shane is there.

I have seen "The Pogues" without Shane, so use of the name's not always the best indicator, but he's doing the tour in the UK with the original line-up in December, so I'm reckoning Bimble should see him. Last time I saw him doing a gig, he was so drunk he fell off a chair.

I remember Jem Finer once walking round Baird's lifting up drunks passed out in vomit till he found Spider Stacy. Less than an hour later he was onstage banging a tin tray off his head.

Tuesday Morning is great, but I’ll take Drunken Boat over it any day.

If we turned the table upside down and sailed around the bed
Clamped knives between our teeth and tied bandannas round our heads
With the wainscot our horizon, and the ceiling as the sky
You’d not expect that anyone would go and FUCKIN DIE

hits hard
