What kind of love is there for a bunch of CDs from a random drawer of my whatnot cabined / CD repository...?

as far as random drawers good it looks pretty good to me. i'd probably being considering over half of them if that was a pile at a used CD store.

as much as i love the mary chain, i still cant quite get automatic...

but in recent times ive come to strangely like wire's drill. the random drawer's a good place for it..it comes off better when you just randomly consider putting it on

Flowchart are The Bomb. Why they get so little love?

TV's Mr Noodle Vague (noodle vague), Monday, 16 May 2005 19:41 (eighteen years ago) link

earlier flowchart was pretty good but i thought their last album was shithouse.

Flowchart - multi personality tabletop vacation

alternate title: "I Can't Believe It's Not Stereolab!!"

earlier flowchart was pretty good but i thought their last album was shithouse

"Gee Bee" was a decent EP, but after that ... yeah.

Flowchart!

I got the single "Sideshow all the way" after John Peel had mentioned them as being "like stereolab" but that one is more a toned down MBV (in a good way). Then I got the Darla "Bliss out" one, and "WOW" it's not like anybody obvious, and I played it endlessly. Later got the "Multi etc" as listed (one of the tracks actually is called "New Radiolab-Rip-Off" but there you go) but was less struck by it to say the least.

One of those artists that can go from "Brilliant" to "Pants" and you have no way of knowing which...

Responses, in order:

1) Ah but they were more clued in than it seemed. Check "Top of the world" cover.
2) Very OTM
3) Also OTM
4) Mmm hmm.
5) Sweet.
6) Well, I guess you had to be there (I wasn't)
7) Very found.
8) Wish.
9) Canute
10) In places, yep.
11) Now it is. Not when I got it.
12) Well, I did wonder.
13) Nope. And long enough to soundtrack it.
14) Undoubtably
15) I don't think so, I'd have to check
16) But an early goal ahead, before losing 1-8.
17) Buried treasure though.

Huh huh, he said "pants!"

Bleach could possibly be my favourite Nirvana LP. The fast songs kick, and the slooow ones practically melt in your (my) ears, courtesy of WAY-tuned down guitar/bass. Many examples of "Kurdt" Cobain's "why write three verses when you can just write one and sing it three times?" lyric approach, pioneered by Iron Butterfly 20 years earlier.
