Michael.. I think it's a bingo rally where there's a mandatory one-pet ante and the odds are anywhere from 3:1 to 3:6.

and the wives have to, uh, submit the bingo cards to their husbands who are organizing it... yeah, that's what's going on.

back to the initial article...doubtlessly they would never reject an ad that pleaded for tolerance towards minorities, would they? The climate of this country now is sort of repulsive.

Sorry to derail, rosemary. I read this this morning and the only thing I can really say is fuck the networks. But I most assuredly would have said that yesterday, anyway. To misquote Lawrence:

Curse the blasted, jelly-boned swines, the slimy, the belly-wriggling invertebrates, the miserable sodding rotters, the flaming sods, the sniveling, dribbling, dithering, palsied, pulseless lot that make up England the U.S. today. They've got white of egg in their veins and their spunk is that watery it's a marvel they can breed. They can nothing do but frog-spawn -- the gibberers! God, how I hate them!

This was the topic of the local NPR call in show this morning. My mom wrote them an email! She is pleased as punch about the ad (and mad at the networks).
