cause he is very talented and young and played for a dysfunctional team/org his rookie season

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:10 (seven years ago) link

yeah its hard to evaluate whether a guy has a higher gear when they're playing on a 9-73 team

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:11 (seven years ago) link

i like noel but not sure how much he helps them get better on offense which is really what they need to do.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:11 (seven years ago) link

i think the celtics need the scoring a lot more than the rim protection atm

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:12 (seven years ago) link

hes just a good player w valuable skills hed prob move some the needle on O via being able to catch and finish athletically at the rim but def has more value defensively, feel like u just take a player like that and then figure out how to make it work

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:14 (seven years ago) link

not that the sixers have shown much interest in trading him

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:14 (seven years ago) link

w noel they cld conceivably go from a very good defensive team to a great one too

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:15 (seven years ago) link

the sixers would be crazy to trade noel for the #3 pick if the celtics could get that they shouldn't think twice

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:17 (seven years ago) link

ya i dont think they wld

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:18 (seven years ago) link

the okafor stuff never made sense to me, he just doesn't seem like the type of player (back to the basket post man who can't play defense) the celtics are going after in the stevens era

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:19 (seven years ago) link

if they wanted a guy like that they wouldn't have turned jared sullinger into a 300 pound stretch 4

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:20 (seven years ago) link

okafor can shoot and faceup and roll too tho, hes a v skilled scorer, doesnt really need to post up all the time to be effective

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:21 (seven years ago) link

however things like playing defense and passing and knowing what a good shot is have so far eluded him

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:24 (seven years ago) link

sullinger is terrible in the post btw, cant jump, lol

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:25 (seven years ago) link

nerlens would make tons of sense for them as a guy who is a pure roller/alley oop finisher but who can defend the rim out to the three point line on defense. that's the kind of center the rest of the roster is built to accommodate.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:27 (seven years ago) link

if i was danny i'd offer the kings #3 for cauley stein

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:28 (seven years ago) link

feel like someone who plays offense would be ideal

k3vin k., Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:32 (seven years ago) link

thats what kd is for duh

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:32 (seven years ago) link

oh i assumed all of these rumored #3 trades would also have to include an actual rotation player i dont think even the sixers are giving them a real player for it straight up

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:46 (seven years ago) link

we still have the nets pick the next 2 years though so i'm always down with just drafting a high upside guy (bender) and then having a strong team in 5 years rather than now

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:49 (seven years ago) link

there cant possibly be 3 weak draft classes in a row right?????

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:50 (seven years ago) link

this one might not even be weak who knows!

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:53 (seven years ago) link

the nets will prob get a lil better tho via throwing money at third tier free agents

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:53 (seven years ago) link

yeah i think theres a reasonable chance that we have a top 5 pick again next yr though. theyre starting from a pretty low point

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:54 (seven years ago) link

tru wldnt be surprised

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:55 (seven years ago) link

i'm not sure if hardwood paroxysm is just trolling or what but they theorize a boogie cousins trade http://hardwoodparoxysm.com/2016/06/22/2016-nba-mock-draft-lakers-76ers-ben-simmons-brandon-ingram/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

if young slothrop don't trust ya i'm gon' rhyme ya (slothroprhymes), Wednesday, 22 June 2016 16:57 (seven years ago) link

i support this theorizing and sacto is absolutely stupid enough to do it

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:00 (seven years ago) link

its been my dream forever but i'd long since resigned myself to it not happening. still don't think it will, but...

if young slothrop don't trust ya i'm gon' rhyme ya (slothroprhymes), Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:04 (seven years ago) link

if they get boogie durant becomes possible, im not saying remotely likely, but real

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:06 (seven years ago) link

boogie seems very unlikely if they can't get khris middleton but sac front office...

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:08 (seven years ago) link

sac trading away their star for parts with the new arena opening seems like <1% though

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:09 (seven years ago) link

they cld get middleton for the package described in that piece

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:10 (seven years ago) link

thing w boogie is we dont know just how bad his relationship w the org is, its at least pretty bad but it cld be nearing unworkable, maybe hes already demanded a trade who knows

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:27 (seven years ago) link

im sure they want to see if boogie will take to joerger

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:42 (seven years ago) link

that's the main reason i think it's unlikely - joerger clearly vibes well with dudes who are often known for being prickly (hairston, barnes, z-bo, etc.) and it's not unreasonable to think that could happen in the coming season. the minute it doesn't, tho, sacramento totally starts shopping boogie around the deadline

if young slothrop don't trust ya i'm gon' rhyme ya (slothroprhymes), Wednesday, 22 June 2016 17:47 (seven years ago) link

jeerer will be great w boogie. question is can he shield boog from everything else wrong with the franchise, answer is no, obv

moistest hoist (Spottie), Wednesday, 22 June 2016 18:06 (seven years ago) link

boogie if ur listening demand a trade to the celtics now thank u

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 18:08 (seven years ago) link

if teague is gone are the hawks also looking to move millsap? bc if so i'd be willing to part w quite a bit for him

if young slothrop don't trust ya i'm gon' rhyme ya (slothroprhymes), Wednesday, 22 June 2016 18:49 (seven years ago) link

dont think the hawks are tearing it down cld be wrong tho

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 19:27 (seven years ago) link

rumor now is they're shopping 12+21 around, i think they just didnt like teague for whatever reason

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 19:56 (seven years ago) link

prob felt he was expendable w schro behind him

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 20:36 (seven years ago) link

oh whoops thats already in the other thread why do we have so many threads

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 20:37 (seven years ago) link

Celtics should just take Bender and hope

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 20:38 (seven years ago) link

10 years ago we had Kevin Love, Kevin Hope, and Kevin Dreams

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 20:40 (seven years ago) link

there cant possibly be 3 weak draft classes in a row right?????

2014 wasn't weak at all!

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 20:40 (seven years ago) link

oh i meant 16 17 18

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 20:41 (seven years ago) link

rumor now is they're shopping 12+21 around, i think they just didnt like teague for whatever reason

Schroeder is ready and it seemed like maybe he'd passed Teague

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 20:42 (seven years ago) link

oh i meant 16 17 18

Oh sorry. Yeah one of the reasons this draft sucks is some guys waited for 17.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 June 2016 20:43 (seven years ago) link

he's a 21 year old euro gotta give him some time im just saying if he turns out to be a quasi-bust it looks like they passed on a bunch of really good players

I think his rookie season went fine considering his role. He had a couple breakout games when they started him. Big thing with him is turnovers. Stan Johnson and Winslow didn't exactly set the world on fire.
