there were some very dope dogs. the dogs in cyprus all seemed to be chained-up alsatians or little charming things which roamed the streets at will. we were very taken with the latter sort and occasionally alarmed by the former

tell you what though, cyprus is the land of the feral cat

maybe there are lots of rats and mice for them to eat?

they struck me more as the bin-raiding, tourist-charming type

doesn't sound very dignified but perhaps a paradoxical charm to that

they probably took prey as well. lean, hungry animals, able to ingratiate and destroy. maybe the best cats i've known

no compunction about home invasion, those cats

ive realised i know very little about cyprus altogether
is there anything worth reading about it?

not to my knowledge although after visiting about 10 important historical sites i have a better sense of its component parts. the argive, ancient greek and frankish periods seem the most interesting tbh although a thorough overview of its relationship to turkey would be useful. has bernard lewis not written anything
