one lump or two (of goat feta)?

The Nickelbackean Ethics (jim in glasgow), Monday, 20 June 2016 17:50 (seven years ago) link

in which case does that reflect poorly on greek culture and consequently call into question the rationale for greek self-determination in kıbrıs xxp

nakhchivan, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:51 (seven years ago) link

or does it have its own autochthonous coffee tradition

nakhchivan, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:51 (seven years ago) link

they have trad coffee parlours next door to starbucks, it is utopia

the only coffee I had was a coffee granita though

imago, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:53 (seven years ago) link

wow i like it

nakhchivan, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:55 (seven years ago) link

i guess it speaks to the fraternity of all mediterranean peoples

nakhchivan, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:55 (seven years ago) link

yah we even ate at an italian place one night. sacrilege sure but sacrilege with vegetarian options

imago, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:56 (seven years ago) link

italian food is just as dope as cypriot food anyway

imago, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:56 (seven years ago) link

do they have dogs in cyprus in which case are they any good

nakhchivan, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:58 (seven years ago) link

there were some very dope dogs. the dogs in cyprus all seemed to be chained-up alsatians or little charming things which roamed the streets at will. we were very taken with the latter sort and occasionally alarmed by the former

tell you what though, cyprus is the land of the feral cat

imago, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:01 (seven years ago) link

maybe there are lots of rats and mice for them to eat?

nakhchivan, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:03 (seven years ago) link

they struck me more as the bin-raiding, tourist-charming type

imago, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:05 (seven years ago) link

doesn't sound very dignified but perhaps a paradoxical charm to that

nakhchivan, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:06 (seven years ago) link

they probably took prey as well. lean, hungry animals, able to ingratiate and destroy. maybe the best cats i've known

imago, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:07 (seven years ago) link

no compunction about home invasion, those cats

imago, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:08 (seven years ago) link

ive realised i know very little about cyprus altogether
is there anything worth reading about it?

nakhchivan, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:09 (seven years ago) link

not to my knowledge although after visiting about 10 important historical sites i have a better sense of its component parts. the argive, ancient greek and frankish periods seem the most interesting tbh although a thorough overview of its relationship to turkey would be useful. has bernard lewis not written anything
