Yeah not taking anything away from lbj the guy he does some amazing things for sure

steph obvs edging in on popular cult levels too tho his repeated failure to dominate the offs is prob holding him back there
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:07 (seven years ago) link
kobe purposely modeled his game to be attractive but in the process lost a lot of hardcore fans by being unsound
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:10 (seven years ago) link
bron completely shifted the paradigm of what it means to be dominant at basketball away from "extremely good at making mid range jump shots" and if people don't recognize it that's their problem
― J0rdan S., Monday, 13 June 2016 16:16 (seven years ago) link
yeah kobe not top 5 but damn dude had a flair for drama like no other
― (•̪●) (carne asada), Monday, 13 June 2016 16:16 (seven years ago) link
its kinda sad we never got the 12 assists a game version of bron, playmaking along w fastbreaking are prob the funnest parts of his game, tho from an actual winning games perspective im sure it make more sense for him to score than pass and obvs he still did rack up a ridiculous pile of assists anyway

hilarious to read this thread in 2016, time capsule from before the steph era
― marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:22 (seven years ago) link
"who just runs to the line and throws up 28 footers?"
i might buy it except that lebron isnt a good shooter - he was chucking - the shots went in - happens

lol the og bron hater
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:26 (seven years ago) link
jk i love bron
tho do have to say it tarnishes his legacy somewhat that hes such a bad gm and coach
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:30 (seven years ago) link
i agree i never found bron to be that compelling a player in his first couple of seasons. his teams always seem so grind-heavy and made with low quality parts
― 龜, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:42 (seven years ago) link
only time he ever really let himself be coached was in miami and it worked out good
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:43 (seven years ago) link
just to make sure we're all on the same page, does anyone want to argue this goes past six?

― k3vin k., Monday, 13 June 2016 16:54 (seven years ago) link

― 龜, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:55 (seven years ago) link

heh i think i made one of those w point guards too where i also didnt list steph but did include john wall before hed even played in the league
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:56 (seven years ago) link
kyrie can be amazing but he has major major flaws
― marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:58 (seven years ago) link
pretty insane the quality of point guards right now where you can forget that john wall exists sometimes
― ciderpress, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:59 (seven years ago) link
kyrie has insane skills and plays incredibly dumb, a true throwback chucker
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:00 (seven years ago) link
wall gotta be one of the most underrated players rn
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:01 (seven years ago) link
i like me some bron but i think maybe why i don't HAVE to tune in to watch him is cos he just kinda goes steady eddy through the game. Like every quarter he gets 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2-3 assists. by the end of the game he's amassed a great stat line and had major impact on the game but you rarely (especially any more) get those manic bursts and crazy quarters of pure ecstasy. curry seems to have had one of those like every game or two throughout the last two seasons.
― Spottie, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:01 (seven years ago) link
wall is still inconsistent and still can't shoot but he's hella fun to watch
kyrie is the best playground player in the nba right now

PG poll
― k3vin k., Monday, 13 June 2016 17:02 (seven years ago) link
i was thinking that the success of the warriors/spurs shows the limitation of the assists stat, u need a hockey assist and hockey hockey assists stat, maybe passes per point or something lol
― 龜, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:02 (seven years ago) link
like i get that bron is a great distributor but at some point ur offense needs to be more sophisticated than drive and kick or w/e that bron does
― 龜, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:03 (seven years ago) link
lmao if we cld just somehow remove rondo from the top of that it wldnt look too bad xxp
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:03 (seven years ago) link
nobody on the warriors averages more than 6 assists per game xp to myself
― 龜, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:05 (seven years ago) link
i cant find the one i started but i swear it was real
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:05 (seven years ago) link
maybe it was on the sandbox

v true, when was the last time we saw bron explode and completely take over?
― marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:06 (seven years ago) link
ya one guy putting up big assists doesnt really work that good in todays nba like even chris paul plays off the ball sometimes
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:06 (seven years ago) link
iirc i saw a stat recently that no team has won a shampionship with a player averaging over 10 assists on the team since Magic lakers
― Spottie, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:09 (seven years ago) link
wow thats kinda nuts

last years finals i guess but even then it was out of necessity and he really didn't shoot a great percentage.

many xps but spottie what are you seeing with the cavs that wins them two in a row?
― De La Soul is no Major Lazer (ulysses), Monday, 13 June 2016 17:13 (seven years ago) link
well no draymond could get them this one then game 6 would be a battle in Cle. game 4 was close until the last few minutes.
― Spottie, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:14 (seven years ago) link
yup
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:15 (seven years ago) link
wouldnt be surprised by anything at this point. the draymo thing def opened the door for them.
― Spottie, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:16 (seven years ago) link
ya seems like a lot of ppl are underestimating how big losing dray for a game is
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:17 (seven years ago) link
you have to really put a lot of stock in home court to feel like the dubs are gonna walk tonight
― J0rdan S., Monday, 13 June 2016 17:17 (seven years ago) link
they def cld just via hot shooting or w/e but i dont think its the most likely outcome
― lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:18 (seven years ago) link
cavs have done a fairly good job of containing curry this whole series until they started getting really sloppy on D last game
― marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 17:22 (seven years ago) link
well they lost the first 2 games by 60 points so im not sure i would go that far
