man the warriors' defense in teh fourth quarter has been absurd

lol @ bron trying to give draymond the Iverson treatment
xp yeah agreed he passed too much

feel like lebron coming back and subjecting cleveland to years of almost titles is perhaps the cruelest trick he ever played on them

lebron must leave again to truly save cleveland
― ciderpress, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:34 (seven years ago) link
bron going to miami was like leaving for college, coming back to cleveland, ran into the same old friends, same bad habits, gotta make a fresh start, go to law school (spurs)

bron really lit a fire under draymond, he's been up in every play since their jaw
― geometry-stabilized craft (art), Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:37 (seven years ago) link
cavs keep driving but they need threes
― marcos, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:38 (seven years ago) link
bron is usually so hard to rattle it's great that draymond actually got under his skin
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:39 (seven years ago) link
dray is a legend for that

i was complaining to myself earlier abt his inability to lock down a layup earlier then he just hit the hardest one of the half nbd
― geometry-stabilized craft (art), Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:42 (seven years ago) link
Absolutely gutted right now.
― Mr. Snrub, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:43 (seven years ago) link
this was a pretty true team win considering the contributions from guys livingston & varejao but i feel like games 6 and 7 of the WCF and this second half (to say nothing of every other game in the last two seasons) prove the death lineup is really just one of the best 5 man lineups of all time when they're really trying their hardest
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:46 (seven years ago) link
just a good grinding win for the w's.
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:49 (seven years ago) link
i think you're right about the death lineup j, it's the right lineup for the current style of play and the way it celebrates two-way players is the best part. that's why i can't get behind cle, half of their guys are unplayable on one end of the floor.
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:51 (seven years ago) link

Can Dan Gilbert fire Tyronn Lue and rehire David Blatt before game six?
― Mr. Snrub, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:52 (seven years ago) link
it won't matter
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:53 (seven years ago) link
not really sure what lue could have done given the level the warriors played at tonight up & down the roster but it didn't feel like he really was pulling any strings in that second half did it
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:53 (seven years ago) link
LBJ played 46 mins, Kyrie 43 mins, and JR 43 mins. That's why they scored zero foeld goals in six minutes.
― Mr. Snrub, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:55 (seven years ago) link
idk what you want they don't really have other players. i guess they could have played delly more?
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:56 (seven years ago) link
w's top 5 were 37, 39, 40, 40, 42
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:57 (seven years ago) link
t. thompson must have completely disappeared in the second half based on the box score
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 11 June 2016 03:58 (seven years ago) link
another thing that game left me feeling is that tristan thompson has an obvious identifiable upper echelon skill in offensive rebounding and when a team is playing relatively half assed like the dubs did in game 3 it can really feel like it's altering the game. but in a game like tonight where a (good) small lineup is really busting its ass they can get enough of boards (on either end) between effort and the way the ball bounces to more or less neutralize that advantage.
which isn't meant to be a diss at tristan as much as a just a comment on the nature of rebounding when it really matters

poor brownie
― mookieproof, Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:02 (seven years ago) link
wow draymond really testing my theory that nut punchers such as chris paul are morally indefensible
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:02 (seven years ago) link
xxxp yeah it just doesn't seem like he can affect a 48-min game through offensive rbs even though it seems disastrous when he gets a couple in a row
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:03 (seven years ago) link
half of their guys are unplayable on one end of the floor.
yea it is super frustrating
― marcos, Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:03 (seven years ago) link
it's too bad that game sputtered out at the end cuz for the first 3.5 quarters it was maybe the best game i've seen this season game 6 WCF included
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:04 (seven years ago) link
also as magical as it can be to see kyrie make these impossible layups after dancing to the rim, when he starts running failed attempts play after play in crunch time it gets super annoying
― marcos, Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:07 (seven years ago) link
yeah all of a sudden the clock turns to midnight and he's a pumpkin again
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:09 (seven years ago) link
he really is one of the most insanely skilled one on one offensive players in a long time tho
Dubs D in the second half was incredible
― Spottie, Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:09 (seven years ago) link
Now that the dubs are up 3-1 and the Finals are effectively over, I wish someone would explain to me why letting both teams physically maul each other, by grabbing, bumping, and grappling one another is presumed to be a better, fairer or more exciting brand of basketball than the usual brand, where defenders are required to move their feet or make clean shot-blocks, and offensive players are required to set stationary picks, not commit traveling. How would enforcing the accepted rules of basketball make the NBA Finals less of a test of the players and coaches?
This irks me deeply about every NBA finals I've ever watched. I want to see skills, not muggings. I want to see "amazing", not mud-wrestling. imo, changing the officiating standards during the playoffs sucks balls. It always has and it always will.

funny you say that considering the argument that the warriors wouldn't be able to hack it in the old rough and tumble NBA
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:15 (seven years ago) link
warriors can play tough pretty well def
― marcos, Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:16 (seven years ago) link

― Mr. Snrub, Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:17 (seven years ago) link
Both sides
― Spottie, Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:17 (seven years ago) link
it was called super tight in the first half and then in the second half they let them play didn't they
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 June 2016 04:22 (seven years ago) link
The players in the old rough and tumble nba smoked, drank and were in a lot worse physical shape than the modern nba players. both the warriors and the cavs would be like gods in the NBA of 1975. but they'd both have to hire one brawler to be the designated brute who knocks out teeth when the opposing team plays dirty. it was how you protected your stars.
