Yeah, she's cursed by consistency of late. She was really good live w/ Werckmeister Harmonies opening, too.

Quite the guestlist on this one. The title track is lovely but I hope she branches out a little more on this one.

I don't know anything about Marissa Nadler, but this is one of my favorite thread titles ever.

I'll admit that I went into it expecting something quite different based on the title and Brodsky being present, so it took me the first half to realign with what they were doing, but I did come around about when "Estranged" came on.

they issued covers of "In the Air Tonight" and "More Than Words" today; I'd have been happy to have these on the record tbh

Nadler’s mailing list has announced that the collaboration between Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky, which produced the album Droneflower is now actually known as Droneflower, and Emily Lee has been added a member in order to create those two new songs. This all makes it sound like it is a proper band now, not just a one-off collaboration between Nadler and Brodsky. Strange then that the link posted by Ned still speaks of the Nadler and Brodsky "duo".

It's a good 'un -- pulls together some standalones on Bandcamp earlier. Her various covers collections have all been wonderful.

question for Marissa Nadler stans: has she recorded any other songs/albums in the same shoegazey/cocteausy vein as her incredible Sailors With Wax Wings feature? maybe Droneflower comes closest? I've been meaning to get into some of her other work since I first heard Ballads of Living and Dying in ≈2007, but she's made like 15 albums and idk how many guest appearances since then, so it's going to take some time
