yeah I've never heard another jazz player flaunt their talent like that. there's a lot of Keith Emerson in her. I mean that in a good sense, by the way

listening to Spiral right now and it's hitting all the right spots. all that "Music For Three-Piece Orchestra" stuff is so good

like her new solo joint of cover versions, Spectrum. it's a mix of the usual head spinning speed riffing with a bit of down-home boogie and some more gentle stuff.

Ooh, I gotta check that one out, I loved the covers/standards album she did with Sonicbloom. Last year's Spark was pretty good too.

Hmm, I guess Spark came out in 2016, dunno why I thought it was last year...

Saw her playing in a duo with Stanley Clarke a couple of years ago (at the London Palladium!), she was utterly fantastic.

The videos on YouTube of her with Akiko Yano are amazing

Yeah, this is a dope album, and it feels like doing the whole album solo has made her reign in some of the cornier fusion excesses of the previous trio/quartet recordings.
The Stanley Clarke Trio album with her and Lenny White from 2009 is cool, I wish that combo would do more records.
