i like to fart and i am crazy (gbx), Tuesday, 14 April 2009 22:05 (fifteen years ago) link

Is that position legal on the road? I don't think it would be on the track.

Prince of Persia (Ed), Tuesday, 14 April 2009 22:07 (fifteen years ago) link

good question, i dunno what UCI regs for that shit, other than that they're strict about uniformity and shit like boardman's superman-position

xpost
Looks awesome and I love the behind the fork front break and internal cable routing. Would be a shame to ride it and spoil the aerodynamics.

Prince of Persia (Ed), Tuesday, 14 April 2009 22:11 (fifteen years ago) link

also i am planning on getting myself one of these as a med school graduation present

i like to fart and i am crazy (gbx), Tuesday, 14 April 2009 22:11 (fifteen years ago) link

Nice, I think my graduation present will be going on a frame building course.

Prince of Persia (Ed), Tuesday, 14 April 2009 23:08 (fifteen years ago) link

oh that is an even better idea

three weeks pass...

wow

Prince of Persia (Ed), Wednesday, 13 May 2009 00:02 (fourteen years ago) link

that's a lovely lovely (shiny) bike.

problem chimp (Porkpie), Wednesday, 13 May 2009 06:03 (fourteen years ago) link

it would probably roll more smoothly without a hand attached to the wheel.

Super Cub, Wednesday, 13 May 2009 06:25 (fourteen years ago) link

i think that one looks better than the stainless schwinn we discussed a couple of months ago. a little paint wouldn't hurt.

iro with the brown bag (Hunt3r), Friday, 15 May 2009 02:10 (fourteen years ago) link

do any pro teams ride (ridiclous) steel frames like that nowadays?

wilter, Friday, 15 May 2009 04:24 (fourteen years ago) link

ridiculous

wilter, Friday, 15 May 2009 04:24 (fourteen years ago) link

i doubt it

I know they're all k=trick and that, but those wheels don't suit that bike, would like a shallower rim (unless of course you were like gifting it to me of course)

problem chimp (Porkpie), Thursday, 16 July 2009 20:40 (fourteen years ago) link

one month passes...

it's not too corny to dig this oldskool bianchi is it?

dj rolando the aztec fish stick (haitch), Sunday, 6 September 2009 12:11 (fourteen years ago) link

the black gruppo/fork/seatpost are yucky

crabRCISE (gbx), Sunday, 6 September 2009 15:56 (fourteen years ago) link

'10 model drops the black fork and seat post, gets the look pretty bang-on

also about $1800 more o_O

ROCK BAND: BORBETOMAGUS (haitch), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 04:38 (fourteen years ago) link

uhhh. $5000, imo thats a rip off, even with the chromed lugs. they should chrome the whole frame underneath the paint for that.

it looks much like my buddy's 1982 bianchi columbus sl with nuovo record, but with k-fussy looking graphics.

iro with the brown bag (Hunt3r), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 04:53 (fourteen years ago) link

i think gbx is exactly right about the 09 version tho

iro with the brown bag (Hunt3r), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 04:54 (fourteen years ago) link

also-- brown turbo=brown wrap. white wrap? WHITE turbo, plz. white PERFED turbo if u know.

iro with the brown bag (Hunt3r), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 04:59 (fourteen years ago) link

oh $5k is definitely more than i'll be paying for a bike in the near future!

maybe i should just get an old frame and fit it out with new stuff.

ROCK BAND: BORBETOMAGUS (haitch), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 05:17 (fourteen years ago) link

for that kinda money (and speaking as someone who recently threw down that kinda money for a not as cool model bianchi) you can find much, much finer bikes... not that i regret my purchase because i was looking for something super specific but i mean look at ed's moots cross bike in post #1, you can get something like that!

I lust over anything lighter, faster, nicer and around £300

cozwn, Monday, 21 September 2009 17:49 (fourteen years ago) link

are these the bikes that replaced the scr series?
http://glasgow.gumtree.com/glasgow/91/45896691.html

cozwn, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 10:33 (fourteen years ago) link

Yup. This model you can get new for £550 so I wouldn't go for this one in particular.

Mark C, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 10:58 (fourteen years ago) link

nah, I'm not gonna drop £500 on a bike. my tentative budget is £300. was reading on bikeradar and they said the best beginner road bikes were the decathlon b'twin sport and giant scr4. I'll keep my eye on ebay

cozwn, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 11:02 (fourteen years ago) link

I don't understand that lugged Bianchi $5000 thing. If you have $5000 and want a super pretty bike couldn't you just get a custom frame and build it up how you like?

Alex in SF, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 18:07 (fourteen years ago) link

Me either, that gets you a titanium IF with a custom paint job.

Mornington Crescent (Ed), Wednesday, 23 September 2009 14:00 (fourteen years ago) link

also: not ugly

holosystolic murmur and the thrill (gbx), Wednesday, 23 September 2009 15:16 (fourteen years ago) link

OK so it is only $3,300, which only gets you a steel IF. but $3,300 is a lot to pay for a bike with campag veloce.

Mornington Crescent (Ed), Wednesday, 23 September 2009 15:25 (fourteen years ago) link

incidentally i've been checking out the IF website - i could go me one of those.

cutty, Monday, 28 September 2009 15:49 (fourteen years ago) link

£1800 for that Charge frame. Nice though - maybe the prettiest titanium bike I've seen lately.

Mark C, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 10:27 (fourteen years ago) link

went into a bike shop yesterday for the first time just to check how much lighter these fancy bikes are than my current bike... oh my days! so light

cozwn, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 10:32 (fourteen years ago) link

I can pick up my bike with my little finger (and my little finger is a particularly weak example of little fingers).

Mark C, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 13:22 (fourteen years ago) link

i can pick up ir8 with block and tackle

iro with the brown bag (Hunt3r), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:59 (fourteen years ago) link

takes me and my gf to get mine up the stairs
