My shoulders are all tense from ILX today and yet I'm still here. What is my problem? No wait, don't tell me. I can hardly take asides or one-offs/ I could definitely not handle someone telling me my problem directly.

Which is no fun really - what good is being a ghost if you can't scare the crap out of people? Fuck that benevolent "I'm a good ghost, let me show you where your grandfather buried the family fortune" crap. If I were a ghost and I couldn't make someone crap their pants, I'd give it up completely.

Sarah, I've always been fake nice to you. Ever since Grade Seven, when you told me that you'd kiss me behind the band portable after school, and then when I got there, your brother gave me a wedgie in front of all the Grade Eights, thus making me an allowable target for all of their hijinks for the remainder of the term. I've never forgiven you for that. I swore on that day that I would get revenge by being as fake nice as possible to you for the next 15 years, and then when your guard is completely down...uh, I don't know.
That never really happened anyway.

Ha Ha. Yeah, I found in this huge stack of paperwork the other day when I was trying to reorganize the files. I picked it up and was thinking, 'WTF?!' and then I remembered it was from you and it made me smile again.

And then I threw it away. (It will live on in my memory!)

Sorry for sleepy folx. I too had much coffee today. Was an hour late to school but it was okay b/c the first testing period today was my off period. Which is also why I took the liberty of staying up so late.

But between the huge frappicino I had and my meds I'm all a-tremble.

my friend across the hall suggested the criminals were doing me a favor and contributing to my overall good mental health by taking the students' work off my hands. ;)

I once had a kiddo tell me she lost her paper after someone broke into her mom's car. Now I buy such excuses.

Came in this morning and reminded the vice-principal of my friend at Fox news who'd love to do a story about the disrepair here. (cieling tiles falling out, broken windows going weeks without being fixed.) He promised to at least get the jagged pieces removed and told me I could hold class in the library if we got too cold.

Six hours later and the glass is still there. *sigh*

Oh and have good holidays to everyone who won't be around for while. (see even being the grinch i am, I can wish others well. must be the coffee ;) )

It sounds like all of them. I was posting on the christmas kitten thread, that seems perfectly supertwee and okay. I haven't looked at much else given what people are saying about the hostility/drama.

Though I'm morbidly curious. Somehow you always want to know what's going on and who hates who and who's having a tantrum. But doing the reading to find out is depressing.

I've gotten in the habit of telling my dad I love him. He may never respond to that and may think I'm an oversensitive idiot (hm, not entirely wrong there). But so the fuck what. It really did scare the shit out of me when, just for a few minutes, I thought something had gone wrong with his surgery (hospital misinformation).

I've been listening to an Elizabeth George book on tape. It's pretty good, I like what I've read of her mysteries. I have another suspense/mystery thing (an airport-novel type book) but the writing or the expression or something just seems too crude to me.

My mom had picked up a novel for me a few weeks ago that turned out being a really really bad romance novel, and it was just hilarious. The sex scenes were just priceless--they were trying to be all sexy but not too detailed. Implied sex in books is fine. Explicit sex is fine too (quite). But writing that attempts to be in between can be really comical sometimes. Bad writing can be really comical anyway, I suppose, especially when it's describing sex. I don't write all that well myself but I am nonetheless a snob.

I need to come up with library ideas. If anyone has suggestions for authors who write compelling stuff that is kind to those with a limited attention span but which is decently written so as not to inspire disgust... email me (hotmail username j_bdules) or whatever. Taste is a variable thing of course, but suggestions help.

I frequently have a hard time finding books I like anymore. I am a concentration-limited grump.

Have you read P.G. Wodehouse? That's what I often read when I want something easy to read and terrific.

I am getting a bit melancholy looking at the threads that are great and readible -- like the Finnish proverb thread. Or that Gareth revived my airport postcard thread because he wanted to send me one. And a few others. And it's frustrating because, you know, the drama threads are poisoning so many other threads, or drowning so many out, and I'm starting to feel all hippie and whatever thinking, you know, is this really what we want to put all our effort into? Snapping at each other? But at the same time, of course, this is what happens, this is all part of group dynamics. So, oh well.

I am so fucking tired and I don't understand how I can be so busy at work when I'm only working here 4 more days. Shouldn't they be phasing me out or something? But hey, only 4 more days.

I finished my instructions booklet yesterday. I injected it with lots of humor and a little letter to the new person in the form on an INTRO. Hopefully, my boss will be too lazy to actually edit it and I can be done with it for good.

Today I finish going through everything on my desk.

How is everyone this morning? I am cold and Sleeeeeeeepy.

I feel physically sick to the stomach, violated, betrayed, lied too and generally freaked out. I really wish that I didn't feel like this.

Smart thinkin'! By the way, my mom says Hi. I was telling her how someone actually took your school tote bag from your car. She said she never believed her students that said their siblings and dogs ate their homework until she had kids and saw my sister and our dog eat homework.

It was actually my youngest sister who chewed on the other sister's homework. She was very very little at the time, but yeah, basically.

I got my homework stolen when I came back from Italy. Left my bags in the front room and went over to my gf's. Got a phone call the next morning from my dad telling me all my stuff had been nicked - including the essays in Italian I'd slaved over :(

I'm hung over. I got mega-flirted with last night. By girls. Young, 20 yr-old girls. They were cute.
But after avoiding three other Christmas parties, I think I might the right choice in going to that one. Because there were theses 20 yr-old girls there who worshipped me.

I'm doing end-of-term grades now and my playful mood has just come to a halt.

One of my students was killed in a car crash about three weeks ago. I didn't know her very well despite having her in my class two years in a row. She was a notorious truant and probably didn't come to school even a dozen times. Nonethless seeing her name just now in my gradebook made me feel kind of sick. :(

I'm not posting this to the moderator thread b/c I'm afraid of further pissing of his royal Dan-ness. . but Sarah I'm sorry I accidently left you off my "Ilxors met" list! (oh and Maura too, but I knew her pre-ilx so I guess that doesn't count) Yr special though since I met some of your family. :) And got one of yr Grandma's yardsticks. heh.

Goddamn, I'm in a realy good mood. I just have to share that since it is a very rare occurance for me. I'm not full of anxiety or annoyance at the moment and am actually looking forward to the next couple of days for no particular reason at all. wow.

That might all change when my 6th period devil spawn arrive in 20 minutes. . .
