A new millennium, new ideas facing the world. Being aware of the importance of intelligence matters, Dr. Evangelos G. Katsioulis founded The World Intelligence Network (WIN) on January 1st, 2001. This date signals a departure from the structures and functions traditionally associated with high IQ societies.

WIN facilitates the participation of its member societies and their respective members by providing an alternative environment in which their original ideas may be freely proposed, constructively critiqued, and widely disseminated.

The following 8 High-IQ-Societies are affiliated with WIN:

CIVIQ (joined 01/2001)
HELLIQ (joined 01/2001)
OLYMPIQ (joined 01/2001)
PARS (joined 03/2004)
GIGA (joined 05/2004)
EPIQ (joined 07/2005)
ISI-S (joined 06/2006)
COLLOQUY (joined 03/2007)
WIN also represents an unprecedented resource of creative problem solving ability to the world at large.

WIN seeks to establish itself as a global vector for cultivation and development by the most intellectually gifted people.

The acronym WIN represents a move forward progress, the hope of a victory for humanity using all its potential.

International High-Intelligence's Society for the top 0.00003% of the general population

The abilities of OLYMPIQ members are extremely rare, since only 1'800 out of the 6'400'000'000 can qualify for membership

Thus, an IQ of 180, sd 16 respectively IQ 175, sd 15, is required to become a member of this exclusive High IQ society

The OLYMPIQ Society, created at the first day of the third millennium, stands as the New Ages apex of all High IQ societies

Giga society was founded in 1996 by Paul Cooijmans, who has served
as its Administrator since.
Giga Society is open to anyone scoring at or above the 99.9999999th
estimated unselected population percentile on any of the acceptable tests.
This means one in a billion individuals can qualify. The corresponding IQ,
expressed on a scale with a set standard deviation of 16, is 196,
respectively sd 15, an IQ 190.
There are currently six Giga members.
Main goal of Giga Society is to reward high-scoring performers for their
contribution to the study of the measurability of high intelligence, and
particularly to the establishment of norms for the very high range.
This Giga web is maintained with permission of Giga society founder
and administrator, Paul Cooijmans.

The Giga society currently has seven members:

Dany Provost, Canada
Evangelos G. Katsioulis, Greece
Paul Johns, UK
Andreas Gunnarsson, Sweden
Rolf Mifflin, USA
Thomas R. A. Wolf, Germany
Scott Durgin, USA

Welcome to the ePiq IQ society
ePiq is an IQ society which has a main purpose to bring together intelligent people from all around the globe. It is widely known that there are many web based IQ societies on the net. Many of them request money for membership. Becoming a member in our society is free. We accept anyone who has a score at or above the 99.8th percentile on one or more of our accepted tests.
The ePiq society is a member of the World Intelligence Network.

In order to satisfy our communicational needs, we have created an online Forum board (NEW BOARD!) for our members.

What is Colloquy?

Colloquy is, to the best of our knowledge, the first high-IQ society based entirely on the Internet. It is created as a forum for the collegial sharing of thoughts, experiences, and creative expression among people of superior intelligence. Defining our terms, what could be considered as superior intelligence? Statistically, perhaps arbitrarily, the highest half-percent of the general populace are placed into this category, at 2.58 standard deviations above the mean. Assuming a 15.5 s.d., this level is 140 IQ... not that undue emphasis should be placed upon such tests. Intelligence is a curious quality, easily recognized while somewhat elusive when precise definitions are sought. Consider the contemporary theories of Gardner and Sternberg, which recognize multiple aspects of intelligence.
Unfortunately, proliferating high-IQ groups have all too often failed to satisfy criteria for true intellectual society, where thoughtful consideration of ideas would banish ad hominem rantings of bigots while nurturing free and civil discussion. In widespread correspondence, we voiced the idea that a worthy intellectual society might thrive on the Internet. Respecting the maturity of potential members, why not dispense with both dues and paper trail, leaving newsletters as an option for enterprising members? Though beginning with the e-list group as a seedbed of discussion, the central concept is the nurturance of a permanent, living "journal" linking member pages in an unfolding treasury of mind. This creative effort is not only for the members of Colloquy but as well for Friends, co-adventurers, scholars, and dilettantes... in particular for talented folk who visualize the potential offered by the Internet for the building of delightful bridges of mind and heart.

CIVIQ society is an international society for people having tested at a very high IQ (Intelligence Quotient) at or above the third standard deviation above the statistical mean of the population (IQ 145 (s.d. 15) resp. IQ 148 s.d.16). The name CIVIQ comes from the latin word civis which means citizen. Added to the letters IQ, we obtain the idea of a community where the members are linked by their intellectual abilities.

Founded in 2001 by Dr. Evangelos G. Katsioulis, CIVIQ has currently (2006) 110 members, with a large spectrum of nationalities (all over the world) and ages (from 18 to 79). CIVIQ is a member society of WIN (World Intelligence Network)

Being an intelligent guy I cannot help but ask how these things are organized and paid for and what information they ask for and who they share information with and whether any one is in line to make money off it if it succeeds and how much money.

But, since I'm not likely to have these questions answered to my satisfaction, and I can't really imagine how these associations would benefit me directly or benefit society any better than the many millions of organizations and social structures already functioning, I'll think I will take a pass.

However, if they offer nifty t-shirts and prizes and allow me to brag to my friends and neighbors how smart I am, adding a bit of luster to my dismally low social status, I might reconsider. Even if it is imaginary luster.

Brag? More like "MY SECRET HIGH IQ SHAME"

StanM, Saturday, 11 April 2009 18:27 (fifteen years ago) link

Yeah, whatever happened to the days when people were private and discreet about their IQ scores, you know, like they would be about their annual salary, voting choices, etc? Currently, with all the pop-up ads, Facebook bots, spam mail & such, IQ is the new penis enlargement.

I don't know if there's any need for that when dude's email address is "vagkat".

It's taken me two minutes to work out what his blurb about standard deviations means, so I've clearly fallen at the first hurdle.
