Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is amazing

Her Nerdist interview made it sound like she had no interest in taking over TDS. She and Jason had already decided they'd leave the same time Jon did, and their Tbs projects just came along at the perfect time.

first ep was very good, and i'm glad it's once a week.

The Wilmore show is 1000% better and funnier now than it was a year ago, or even 6 months ago.

Sorry, I do not feel that way about the Nightly Show. I think it is still very bad. The most tolerable/enjoyable bits are when Larry is just talking to the camera. However whenever they deviate from that...

i will give it another shot, but i just didn't think he was very funny. i liked what he chose to talk about and when he took a stance, i agreed, but when it came time to say something humorous, i just never lol'd. but i will try again!

second episode, just as good if not better. the only problem i have with this show is that i want more of it

It's completely satisfying to watch her show up Oliver and the Daily Show. I like Oliver but her takedown of Trump vis a vis the RIP GOP thing this week was so much sharper.

Agree that it's the best show of the three, which makes me fear for its security (at 10:30 on a Monday night on TBS).

"10:30," "Monday," and "TBS" are a terrible combination. They couldn't make it less likely for me to see or be able to see it if they tried.

You know what all TV channels should do? Just replay the previous night's talk shows and whatnot the next morning. People are all passing around "viral" clips anyway, everything will be just as timely/funny, there's nothing better to watch in the morning and they don't have to pay to make new content. Conan, Colbert, Kimmel, whomever, just put it on in the morning, too. Who the hell is watching TV 10:30 Monday night? (Granted, I don't know who is watching Monday morning, either, but at least more people are awake.)

They may not be allowed to air certain shows in the daytime due to content restrictions.

this show isn't incredibly rhetorically sophisticated (by which i mean, it's very blunt and didactic), but it is smart. i like their multi-part piece on the christian right, which argues that politicized evangelism was always about racial identity, and that the support of the religious right for trump is not by any means out of historical character.

As much as I enjoy SB snarking in front of photoshops, the little filmed pieces of this are the highlights for me. The Bergman JEB! film haunts me to this day. I can't think of a better satire show at the moment (recommendationsS), not least because she's not afraid to get rightously angry.

her team is excellent and poised to get real famous.

The Halloween episode was Samantha at her best. Love her.

i remember this from when it first came out, definitely does seem like a shitty stance on its face and ideally it would be nice to see she and *Jones at least address it in some context to offer their reasoning. but it hasn't kept me from enjoying her show, no.

*maybe i'm being an apologist for Bee but everything I've seen about this story has only quoted her husband and not her. can't automatically assume they're lockstep on this issue.

We watched the first episode, and every time it felt like we were being yelled out they made a joke about viewers probably feeling like they were being yelled at. Don't know what to think about that.

folks is it wrong to support michelle wolf and want her to succeed but at the same time refuse to watch her show because her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to you

MW's stand up is strong. The pre-recorded pieces are meh. Her voice is whatever, I only cringe sometimes because I can tell that other people hate it.

I don't mind her voice, it is what it is, but there was one bit in the first episode with that other comedian where they were on a couch literally yelling at us.

I thought the Amazon Echo lunchmeat thing was hilarious.

I still watch this every week. I catch bits and pieces of The Daily Show, Colbert and Seth Myers (the monologues) from the night before or like on the weekend when I am cooking and although I like all of those there is way, way too much overlap in political jokes. Hasan Minhaj, John Oliver, Sam Bee and weekly formats are so much better for fresher political takes.
