I'm so sorry to hear about this, Chris. I almost didn't until I was emailed about it. Anyway, I'm so glad you are alive and didn't lose your sense of humor.

By the way, I bought the Sun album and I love it.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:49 (nineteen years ago) link

Well, they could be rotting and filthy dicks, and thus sorrow would still be paramount.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:52 (nineteen years ago) link

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:55 (nineteen years ago) link

This is mostly unrelated, but Google image search for "SUV" came up with this image, maybe it'll cheer you up a bit:

Holy crap! At least you don't have to go to work, though. Make the most of it, I guess... Get well quickly but don't let the boss know, that sort of thing.

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 10 January 2005 19:09 (nineteen years ago) link

Get well soon! Car accidents are so scary.

Michael White (Hereward), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 18:39 (nineteen years ago) link

Looks pretty friggin bad to me.

Je4nne Ć’ury (Jeanne Fury), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 18:40 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, joking (above) aside, that looks like a pretty bad impact.

Michael White (Hereward), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 18:47 (nineteen years ago) link

two years pass...

I was just rear-ended by a large pickup truck, maybe 5-10mph. No apparent damage to my car, but it's possible I may have a sore back tomorrow. I figured I didn't need to get the cops involved, since it was so minor, so I just took his license, phone #, name, and address. Right thing to do or wrong?

libcrypt, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:26 (sixteen years ago) link

sorry, but RONG.

Pleasant Plains, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:34 (sixteen years ago) link

Should maybe have exchanged insurance info, but yeah if it's a fender-bender no need to do much more than that. Get a heating pad, if you don't already have one, to help with the potential aches.

Jaq, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:35 (sixteen years ago) link

No fenders were even bent, tho. Yeah, I should have gotten more info. I wasn't really thinking clearly at the time.

libcrypt, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:42 (sixteen years ago) link

i saw i gigantic refrigeration truck stop in the middle of the road and then back into some poor woman in a crappy little chevy. totally destroying the front end. it was classic. the lady was fine - if not kind of insane with anger/adrenaline - so much so that a squeegee kid had to console her and then park her car for her!

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:47 (sixteen years ago) link

is a 5mph prang any worse than say a ride on a rollercoaster when it comes to aches sprains & whiplash?

s.rose, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 02:14 (sixteen years ago) link

is the bingo ever here?

mookieproof, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 02:17 (sixteen years ago) link

five months pass...

The Reverend, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:04 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm alright, as is the guy whose truck I crashed into, as is his truck. My car I just bought half a year ago is totalled, though. No collision insurance. : (

The Reverend, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:05 (fifteen years ago) link

This really couldn't happen at a worse time considering not only am I flat broke, but I'm supposed to be moving this weekend.

The Reverend, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:06 (fifteen years ago) link

El Tomboto, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:07 (fifteen years ago) link

J0rdan S., Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:09 (fifteen years ago) link

The Reverend, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:12 (fifteen years ago) link

this is so sad!

Surmounter, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:14 (fifteen years ago) link

Metro Transit's website tells me the fastest bus trip to and from work is about an hour and forty minutes, which will be but down to an hour and ten minutes after I move.

The Reverend, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:16 (fifteen years ago) link

cut down

The Reverend, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:16 (fifteen years ago) link

Surmounter, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:24 (fifteen years ago) link
