Great pass.

Jonathan Pierce is giving the most senile 90mins of commentary I've ever heard.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 20 January 2016 21:11 (eight years ago) link

xp to self then he was like "Leicester need to score here" when they were 2-0 down with 30 seconds of injury time left. wtf

Skaciety (pronounced the way you'd pronounce society) (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 20 January 2016 21:38 (eight years ago) link

benteke is so crap at one on ones in stoppage time

pandemic, Wednesday, 20 January 2016 21:50 (eight years ago) link

Son wasn't great but two moments of quality were prob always going to be enough in this one.

Pos: wimmer looked really solid at cb, vorm both solid and nice and vocal, which lloris lacks. Bentaleb clearly a good option squadwise. Walker had a good night and even below par we looked likely to react best to a bounce

Hey: we always seem below par and rely on a bounce. Seem extraordinarily willing to give the ball away, not even by positive intent just by shit or dangerous passing. Eriksen and lamela really poor. Entire midfield waving their feet at tackles. Nobody can perform the Kane role. Davies is solid in a really bad way.

And ranieri p much just admitted throwing it.

Was gonna say it looked like Poch cared more but also fuck it, u play to win

Both teams played essentially a second string but Leicester could seriously have won the FA Cup, in fact it was pretty likely.

Matt DC, Thursday, 21 January 2016 09:06 (eight years ago) link

Going to Anfield for a bit of a sing was fun, and being in Liverpool (I haven't been here for something like 20 years) is too. The game was a bit underwhelming: we all knew we had no chance when David Noble wasn't in the squad, on top of the other injuries we have, but at least that meant we could get on with enjoying the occasion without being bothered by troublesome hope. Would have liked the home fans to be a bit more interested but can fully understand why they weren't.

Tim, Thursday, 21 January 2016 09:46 (eight years ago) link

Trying to remember when I last saw TWP score a goal that good.

Although due to in-law loyalties I'm all Derby tonight.

Matt DC, Friday, 29 January 2016 20:13 (eight years ago) link

The next 70mins or so of this are going to be dire though.

Matt DC, Friday, 29 January 2016 20:15 (eight years ago) link

was the goal a curler from just outside the left-hand side of the box into the top right corner? that's like the classic stereotypical good rooney goal that he scores every so often. in fact on one of the few occasions I saw him play in the flesh he scored that exact sort of goal.

Haha yes

Why are we starting Kane, Eriksen and Lamela?

On a Raqqa tip (ShariVari), Saturday, 30 January 2016 12:36 (eight years ago) link

Respect for the competition?

Matt DC, Saturday, 30 January 2016 12:45 (eight years ago) link

Maybe aimed at avoiding a replay. Against a team bottom of league one.

Matt DC, Saturday, 30 January 2016 12:46 (eight years ago) link

Fuck, the camera just pulled away from that Colchester player but you could see his legs twitching in a really disturbing way. The look on the other players' suggested a grim one.

Matt DC, Saturday, 30 January 2016 12:48 (eight years ago) link

Missed that

We look shaky at the back, not fair to pick on fullbacks as clearly them caring about not conceding needless goals is not the poch way

broderik f (darraghmac), Saturday, 30 January 2016 14:30 (eight years ago) link

Carroll vg there

Attempting to get an autograph off Michel Vorm is probably the single lamest thing I've ever seen a pitch invader do.

MK Dons v Chelsea is bare jokes atm, there could plausibly be ten goals if it carries on like this

Skaciety (pronounced the way you'd pronounce society) (DJ Mencap), Sunday, 31 January 2016 16:28 (eight years ago) link

Chelsea should be about six up.

On a Raqqa tip (ShariVari), Sunday, 31 January 2016 16:30 (eight years ago) link

Oscar has a first-half hattrick so this is now only of interest to see if he can get five or more, which means he will probably be subbed at halftime

Skaciety (pronounced the way you'd pronounce society) (DJ Mencap), Sunday, 31 January 2016 16:46 (eight years ago) link

can't see much in the fifth round draw to suggest that this year isn't going to be the most boring FA Cup of my lifetime

Skaciety (pronounced the way you'd pronounce society) (DJ Mencap), Sunday, 31 January 2016 18:25 (eight years ago) link

also refamiliarising myself with how astonishingly incoherent Lawrenson's co-commentary was in this game, even by his own standards. he seemed high

Definite penalty we got away with, and now walker looks fucked. Busy start.

I like to think we're hoping adebayor not cause we care much about him but because we know he's likely to react appallingly and get sent off

One clattering, one nutmeg on Adebayor and a near own goal for Kyle Walker. Interesting 15mins he's having.

Palace in decent control of this, no real complaints

Soon all logins will look like this (darraghmac), Sunday, 21 February 2016 16:26 (eight years ago) link

I think it's pretty obvious this isn't going to happen. A replay would be bad.

Matt DC, Sunday, 21 February 2016 16:44 (eight years ago) link

Was that going in before the offside touch? Really stupid pass attempt from bentaleb to lose the possession.

can't moan, it was always going to be that kind of game and hopefully our younger players will learn from it. the cup run's been gravy on a great season. still believe this is the start of establishing ourselves as trophy contenders.
