like augsburg, always seems to be a terrific atmosphere there and marcus weinzierl is an excellent manager

How does a goalkeeper contrive to injure himself in the warm up?

Matt DC, Thursday, 18 February 2016 18:43 (eight years ago) link

That was decent enough, we didn't panic when put under pressure after the goal. Fancy us to win at WHL.

Matt DC, Thursday, 18 February 2016 19:52 (eight years ago) link

Strong Liverpool team out. I guess they all had a nice stroll last Sunday.

not even worth commenting on at this point

Louis remains

Number None, Thursday, 18 February 2016 19:55 (eight years ago) link

xp yeah it wasn't great in the second half but kane rested and hopefully no injuries, and we'd almost certainly have lost that game in other years.

I can't get used to this new spurs positivity.

Based on where we are at the moment, you'd think it'd be easier to qualify for the CL by finishing Top 4 rather than winning the Europa, so wouldn't actually mind if we go out tomorrow - especially given our poor record on a Sunday following the Thursday Europa game.

groovypanda, Wednesday, 24 February 2016 19:56 (eight years ago) link

What happens if United finish 5th but also win the Europa, and Chelsea win the Champions League?

Matt DC, Wednesday, 24 February 2016 20:05 (eight years ago) link

Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together...

but also I'm pretty sure that means only the top 3 plus the two European trophy winners would qualify

Number None, Thursday, 25 February 2016 00:06 (eight years ago) link

Yeah, one country can only have a maximum of five clubs in the CL so 4th would miss out

groovypanda, Thursday, 25 February 2016 14:17 (eight years ago) link

Stick a fiver on it and you would be too rich to care.

On a Raqqa tip (ShariVari), Thursday, 25 February 2016 15:18 (eight years ago) link

Think Lucas might be playing CB today.

Mignolet, Clyne, Lucas, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Milner, Firmino, Sturridge, Coutinho. Subs: Ward, Toure, Benteke, Origi, Smith, Teixeira, Chirivella.

be nice to see studge, firmino, coutinho together again.
obviously overpaid to start with but i wonder just how many millions have been knocked off benteke's value by the summer? here's hoping prem riches/desperation lead to someone willing to cough up.

pandemic, Thursday, 25 February 2016 17:36 (eight years ago) link

Leading thru a dodgy pen but my god sturridge is so so good.

pandemic, Thursday, 25 February 2016 18:26 (eight years ago) link

This last 15 mins so predictable after spending 70 mins being far too casual in front of goal.5 mins of injury time , a goal is probable.

pandemic, Thursday, 25 February 2016 19:48 (eight years ago) link

never in doubt

i;m thinking about thos Beans (Michael B), Thursday, 25 February 2016 19:52 (eight years ago) link

and yeah so good to have studge back

Number None, Thursday, 25 February 2016 20:36 (eight years ago) link

And why didn't the ref play on with Blind almost clean through? Flips sake.

Looking at the last 16 and it's pretty big names all the way down. Could be some cracking ties.

groovypanda, Thursday, 25 February 2016 21:56 (eight years ago) link

memphis looked like he was having the time of life for once. not convinced i didn't just dream that whole performance.

Ambivalence about the number of games remaining easily trumped by the satisfaction of comfortably beating a proper team.

Really want Dortmund in the next round. Although anyone other than the English teams and Basle would be nice.

Matt DC, Friday, 26 February 2016 07:50 (eight years ago) link

liverpool v united in the next round

François Pitchforkian (NickB), Friday, 26 February 2016 12:18 (eight years ago) link

and spurs v dortmund!

François Pitchforkian (NickB), Friday, 26 February 2016 12:19 (eight years ago) link

Yessssssssssssss.

Matt DC, Friday, 26 February 2016 12:23 (eight years ago) link

Good stuff.

Thomas of Britain (Tom D.), Friday, 26 February 2016 12:46 (eight years ago) link

Looks like Poch has got his priorities sorted and fielded a pretty young team against a strong Dortmund side tonight.

groovypanda, Thursday, 10 March 2016 17:54 (eight years ago) link

Think It's kind of a pity that he's not gone absolutely full-tilt at this tbh, good experience for the champs league next year.

Lovely treat having these two games one after the other tonight

Windsor Davies, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:02 (eight years ago) link

Champions League next year not assured yet though so that has to be first priority.

groovypanda, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:13 (eight years ago) link

Fucking hammer shot from Mkhitaryan. Far be it from me to cast aspersions on the relative merits of Tom Carroll and Josh Onomah but we're getting fucking twatted here.

Matt DC, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:17 (eight years ago) link

Ugh Robbie Savage. Shame no Gundogan. Weigl has been great this season.

Nice shot by Derek.

pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:17 (eight years ago) link

Sweet.

I'll be disappointed if it turns out there's no fan song for him to the tune of MIA's Galang

pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:32 (eight years ago) link

Lol.

I guess we should be happy Aubameyang isn't playing for Arsenal, which in a former era he definitely would be.

Robbie Savage's belligerent insistence that Eric Dier is all that would be required to stem the tide is more annoying than the goal.
