Let's look back at Alabama after Gene Stallings or Michigan after Lloyd Carr or Tennessee after Philip Fulmer or USC after Carroll or...god, the annual disaster that is U of Miami. Even though there are a lot of similarities, I can't imagine things will go as badly as they did with Florida's Muschamp hire.

my concern is basically that saban is the best defensive mind of a generation so i'm not quite sure we know exactly what kirby is capable of. of course, muschamp was a defensive genius at multiple schools and was a disaster as a head coach so it's not like success is guaranteed either way. i guess i would just be wary of the kirby era turning out like every bill belichick assistant has turned out (i guess the jury is still out on bill o brien)
