Music Notation Based Software ... Help?

My niece is 8 (today!) and I'm trying to find a music notation software to help her learn the most basic notation -- i.e. which notes on the stave correspond to which notes on the keyboard and vice versa

(then note lengths and so on)

I tried the softonic solfeggio free trial, but to be honest its level 1 test is too hard, she is really only just starting -- she's been learning for a year, but is basically still not reading the notes, just the fingering

it doesn't have to be free, it's a (now late) birthday present (or else early xmas)

I haven't looked at any software in this space so I have no recommendations ;_;
