longstanding lurker here, i made a thug playlist for anyone interested in his 2015 output. this year i think i caught every leaked or released song and these are the ones i listen to daily, enjoy

my girlfriend is now mad I didn't consult with her when selecting, and she considers 'Here', 'Pour It Up' and 'Birds' to be glaring omissions. I'd meant to leave out the other two but had forgotten about Here. She wouldn't have taken anything out, though, fwiw

i share that insanity also

was assuming the comparative antipathy to ss1 is cos maybe leak heads were already overfamiliar idk

its coherence or lack thereof is only relative to b6 (which is great, don't get me wrong), i do tend to skip the first 4 tracks now but from 'best friend' to the end it's a single powerful tide that holds variety, same as any good rap alb there's ever been. and the highs are so high

somewhat feel b6's atmospheric unity almost becomes a thing in itself above its component songs, the kind of soporific fugue lucid dream that makes a man want to log in to medium dot com and bust a nut or two

b6 > ss1 >= ss2

concur that SS1 >>>> B6

B6 has "Numbers" and "Constantly Hating," so it wins.

i am with d40 here, completely bonkers to suggest ss1 > b6 imo, no way

the tagging on SS2 is out of control what is real

B6 is the best.

It also has OD.

ss1 has some very high peaks though, tbh i'd rather listen to ss1 than 1017 thug or some of the older tapes, he's come a really long way imo, some of the older stuff grates tbh

yeah SS1 has great songs, "That's All" might be my favorite out of all this year's releases.

"calling your name", "be me see me", "overdosin", "wood would", "udiggwhatimsayin" which might be my fav thugger track ever aside from "pacifier"...not especially bothered about barter 6

about a third of the way into SS2 and it's not grabbing me like SS1 yet either

first four tracks on SS1 are skippable

"Best Friend" is a classic, prob my fav thug single this year at least in terms of records that really took off

"Power" sounds like three or four different B6 tracks

"Calling Your Name" almost works but is really hard to listen to...you didn't even mention "Draw Down" lex

"That's All" bugs me bc it sounds almost like a good pop record but not quite

i mean, let's be real, he's one of the best rappers out, obv his current stuff is miles ahead of his earlier work...

oh yeah i like "draw down" a lot

SS1 is the first time i've really enjoyed his voice for an extended period of time

SS2 def improves in the back half, from "oh lord" on, wasn't feeling anything before that tho

feel like a THUGGER vs FUTURE past 12 months poll might be necessary

future's tapes are more consistent but barter 6 is more exciting

not all the way through yet but damn ss2 is pretty amazing

this singing thing he's been doing in the middle of a few tracks with these treated and sometimes double-tracked vocals e.g. "all over", "with that" and especially "halftime" is really really great

I wanted to say that your crazy for ranking SS1 over Barter 6, but then I remembered I deleted 5 or 6 songs off of Barter (most any track 'featuring...') so what do I know

previous familiarity with the leaked tracks makes it hard to evaluate ss1/ss2 on their own merits, but the best 13 or so tracks from the pair def stand up to barter 6 imo

There's like one wack song on barter and it's not even that bad really

literally the day after Barter 6 was released. B6 came out on April 16, and then 300 Ent. announced on April 17 that Thug's "debut album" was coming out in August. it was all very confusing and suspect.
