If Labor can actually transition to appointing a leader and form an opposition, they have half a chance of recovering for the next election. If they have another messy spill six months before the election (or take Shorten all the way), the electorate will be right not to trust them to govern.

Theyre kind of fucked either way. If they replace Shorten in the run-up it'll make them look pathetic. If they dont, they have no chance.

Shorten just needs to grow a pair and stop being so bizarrely wooden.
