Lev have completely dominated this but one Lazio goal would be enough to send them through

pandemic, Wednesday, 26 August 2015 20:28 (eight years ago) link

Lovely break by Lev, unselfish square by Brandt, finish by bellarabi. 3-0 beautiful.

Group A: Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Malmo

Group B: PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, CSKA Moscow, Wolfsburg

Group C: Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, Astana,

Group D: Juventus, Manchester City, Sevilla, Borussia Monchengladbach

Group E: Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Roma, BATE Borisov

Group F: Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Olympiakos, Dinamo Zagreb

Group G: Chelsea, Porto, Dynamo Kiev, Maccabi Tel-Aviv

Group H: Zenit Saint Petersburg, Valencia, Lyon, Gent

Man City group is p sweet. As is Barca's. Chelsea got the best draw but I guess that makes sense as they were seeded #1. Memphis back to PSV already.

pandemic, Thursday, 27 August 2015 17:01 (eight years ago) link

group f there is in the order that it will be in when the ties have all been played

Watching Leverkusen - Lazio and Son isn't playing, apparently he's on his way to Spurs which should please mizzell. Guess that means they've given up on Beharino I dunno.

Calhanoglu is so good

― pandemic, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 3:24 PM (2 days ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

ack, this move me makes me anxious. i love son, though haven't seen much of him since he joined leverkusen, but spurs have been burned through so many promising young players. spurs' twitter using the hast tag here comes the son is an inauspicious start, imo. calhanoglu had some tough words for him leaving.

mizzell, Friday, 28 August 2015 13:37 (eight years ago) link

two weeks pass...

man u team for tonight: De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw; Schweinsteiger, Herrera; Young, Mata, Memphis; Martial

looks like a decent attaking side, what the hell is this lvg guy doing?

feargal czukay (NickB), Tuesday, 15 September 2015 17:30 (eight years ago) link

where young, mata and memphis will actually play i'm not sure

feargal czukay (NickB), Tuesday, 15 September 2015 17:32 (eight years ago) link

It's Mata at #10, Memphis left, Young right apparently

excited!

Number None, Tuesday, 15 September 2015 18:11 (eight years ago) link

God speed NN, looking forward to this too obv :)

Young is playing right because our worst player, Brenet, is a right-footed left-back -_-

have you watched Memphis in the league at all this season? Curious if you have any insight as to why it hasn't quite happened for him yet

Number None, Tuesday, 15 September 2015 18:21 (eight years ago) link

That means only blind is sort of out of position, wtf is going on?

Xp lbi!

feargal czukay (NickB), Tuesday, 15 September 2015 18:21 (eight years ago) link

Herrera's out of position too tbf. I don't really like him in a midfield two

Number None, Tuesday, 15 September 2015 18:26 (eight years ago) link

Hey guys! Go-to place, this right here. The draw for this group pulled me back in :)

NN: I think he's not quite gelling because he's just not as good as he will be someday. You've seen his touch of individual class in those goals against Brugge alone, but he still needs to learn a helluva lot. At PSV he lost possession a lot, but it didn't matter because he could score two brilliant goals nearly every game. At ManU, in the PL, not so much.

No doubt that it will come, but he really needs time to get used to the PL I think. Time you're rarely granted in the PL.

it's a red card tackle anywhere but in the box, reckless as to how he hit the opponenet and out of control of his momentum

deejerk reactions (darraghmac), Tuesday, 15 September 2015 19:02 (eight years ago) link

that is absolutely devastating

poor lad

feargal czukay (NickB), Tuesday, 15 September 2015 19:12 (eight years ago) link

I've seen it again

It's 100% a red card. Completely reckless and out of control

Number None, Tuesday, 15 September 2015 19:17 (eight years ago) link

Yeah, saw the replays myself now. Terrible tackle, red card.

35 min: I’ve just seen a still of the aftermath of Luke Shaw’s clash with Hector Moreno and I think it’s safe to say the poor lad’s ankle is badly broken. If you’ve a strong stomach, you can probably find a picture of it on Twitter. Probably better just to take my word for it, though.

feargal czukay (NickB), Tuesday, 15 September 2015 19:23 (eight years ago) link

man maybe juve's literally just now finding their form but i can't believe man city lost

bringing on Fellaini there lost us the point

Number None, Tuesday, 15 September 2015 20:47 (eight years ago) link

They should just revoke City's CL place or give it to the team in fifth, anything other than just letting them squander it season after season.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 15 September 2015 21:34 (eight years ago) link

But that would deny us the pleasure of watching them mess it up

pandemic, Wednesday, 16 September 2015 18:54 (eight years ago) link

Hazard penalty miss? Not watching that trash but would be interested to know how Zahavi gets on.

Salah is looking good for Roma.

Was about to say Zenit have been awful recently and they just scored.

Roma have looked p decent so far.

Suarez one nil. Might be an idea to get within 10 yards of Rakitic maybe?

pandemic, Wednesday, 16 September 2015 19:07 (eight years ago) link

yeah
niguez, koke, griezmann, carrasco is a really good attacking midfield
something they didn't have two years ago

Real win on pens. 121st minute winner would be so much better.

Matt DC, Saturday, 28 May 2016 20:43 (seven years ago) link

navas has 9/29 saved, oblak 7/24 so not a lot of difference
oblak has saved 2/3 since he has been at atletico, vs messi and muller

Ndalni Luigj Xhaka (nakhchivan), Saturday, 28 May 2016 20:46 (seven years ago) link

long day, Atleti so much more imposing in the 2nd half of real time, down to the audio coverage now

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 28 May 2016 20:50 (seven years ago) link

they are in atleti time now tho

Ndalni Luigj Xhaka (nakhchivan), Saturday, 28 May 2016 20:51 (seven years ago) link

Matt DC, Saturday, 28 May 2016 20:52 (seven years ago) link

juanfran is a more competent attacking wingback than had been suspected

And the cry rang out all o'er the town / Good Heavens! Tay is down (imago), Saturday, 28 May 2016 20:57 (seven years ago) link

than will have been suspected by less seasoned liga bbva viewers

Ndalni Luigj Xhaka (nakhchivan), Saturday, 28 May 2016 21:00 (seven years ago) link

torres needs replacing by correa unless the latter is useless (maybe idk)

Ndalni Luigj Xhaka (nakhchivan), Saturday, 28 May 2016 21:01 (seven years ago) link

it took pepe 110 minutes to get booked, it's like a new beckett play

Larry 'Leg' Smith (Tom D.), Saturday, 28 May 2016 21:39 (seven years ago) link

big risk from zidane picking young lad to take the first peno and leave ronaldo last. if kid missed and they lost 4-3 on pens they'd be calling for his head. 5th pens are prob not taken half the time but i suppose ronaldo knew it could be the one for glory

Neptune Bingo (Michael B), Saturday, 28 May 2016 22:19 (seven years ago) link

Real having their open top bus printed up with 11 Times Champions or whatever and rolling through the streets of Madrid within nine hours of winning the trophy in a completely different country is some next level shit.
