sorry ilx, I forgot that emojis messed up sna! my thread title was an honest mistake and not an attack on zing users or any sort of GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD shenanigans.

however I find it flattering (and slightly creepy) that an anonymous mod is working on my behalf to restore my controversial thread titles. can we compromise and replace the offending emoji with ten crying emoticons? ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_;

ok, so what I've done is c&p the original thread into a new thread, then deleted the old thread. hopefully that will work.

err, I can't say I'm thrilled with your solution (the implication being "emojis are allowed in thread titles, but if you make the mistake of including an emoji in your thread title, we will have no choice but to delete it"), but if that's the only way to address the zing issue in this instance, then http://i.imgur.com/Jzt1cVi.png?1.

the best options in the long run are either to repair the zing bug or to create a prompt (similar to the "Possible Existing Threads..." prompt) that prevents people from including emojis in thread titles — but I realize that quite a bit of work is required to implement either of those solutions. at present, "no emojis in thread titles" is an unwritten rule that I don't think many people here are aware of.

I'll bring the problem up with stet, but my temporary solution was just fine thank you.

Sorry, I thought everything was clear on your end when I deleted the original thread. I'm out of ideas, but I've passed the info on to stet. Don't know when he'll be able to do something about it. It might have to wait until the deleted thread slides off SNA.
