aw there's tons of good lines in spoon songs

i voted for "do you" pretty much on the strength of "flipping back pages / unbuckling belts"

thought sister jack was a lock for top 3 tbf

i do not care for sister jack and am relieved

I think they have catchier songs, but this one manages to be catchy without being, I dunno, obsequious (see: I Turn My Camera On, Inside Out).

Deceptively simple, Sister Jack. Sounds like a throwaway three chord number but there's twelve (count 'em!) chords in the verse and that neat switch to 5/4 at the end.

i don't think it's possible for everything hits to be too high, not my #1 but spoon classic canon as it gets. one of maybe half a dozen songs that won't make me mad at 1

I'll be v v surprised and disappointed if Finer Feelings isn't in the top 5.

Since "Anything You Want" has placed higher than "The Fitted Shirt," and it looks like all my very favourites are going to place, my ballot would have been a negligible contribution anyhow. Unless a #1 vote for "Everything Hits" would have nudged it into top spot. In which case I'll never forgive myself.

Will be very surprised if "Don't You Evah" fails to show up.

ha, Youtube is wrong with the time again this time with The Natural History version as it's only around 3:40 or so.

first time i have heard the original, it's nice. doesn't have the same spunk.

The main guitar part on Mystery Zone is so hypnotic, that little bit of delay on every second strum of the chord (the downstroke? Not completely sure).

Don't You Evah was my #3, the original is a cool song but Spoon's version adds so much.

naaahh, there's not even an electric guitar in the underdog!

Mystery Zone has the easiest baseline to play ever. kinda hypnotic.

Summon You is really good. Such great vocals/phrasing on it. Another easy one to play on guitar too :)

I'll have to try that. Sister Jack is pretty easy and v satisfying. Well I guess I would say that, since I like it.

I think I liked the original version of "Don't You Ever" better than Spoon's, but I can't place quite why. I think it takes itself more seriously?

The Mystery Zone was my #4, love that song to bits. It really is hypnotic and, while I don't usually listen to Spoon lyrics, I like the lyrical themes of this one.

xpost nothing I voted for from Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga has placed yet. One I expect to do extremely well, the other two I'm worried fell below 40. Half of my top 10 was in the lower 15, so who knows?
