on sunday i went to a national women's soccer league game. it was really fun, plus much better quality than the majority of the world cup games that i caught on tv. Seattle Reign v Portland Thorns, so a derby game. world cup winner megan rapinoe plays for seattle, christine sinclair was up front for portland. $15 a ticket, so economical. a franchise record attendance of over 6000 were there. the crowd contrasted with most men's sporting events you'd go to in that it's mainly women, families, and there's lots of gay couples. nice change from the rowdy-hetero-bro vibe. 3-0 win for Seattle, i managed to miss the final 2 goals waiting to buy kettle-corn :/ but for sure would attend regularly if i lived in a city with a team, maybe they'll expand to vancouver one day.

I've been to a few Chicgo Red Stars games, otm as far as crowd composition, but less ppl overall at their games. Christen Press is a great player, and Julie Johnson in defense is like retroactively awesome bc the games I went to were all pre World Cup.
