Broken-hearted and disappointed, SCPD has concluded the search for Madyson Middleton.

On July 27, 2015, at approximately 7:55 PM, Santa Cruz Police Detectives with FBI Agents discovered a body in a dumpster at the Tannery Arts Center complex, 1030 River Street. While the Coroner’s Office will be responsible to confirm the identity, we are absolutely heartbroken to announce that the body appears to be that of 8 year old Madyson Middleton.
The investigation led to the arrest of a 15 year old male suspect at the Tannery Arts Center complex.
Detectives have sealed off a residence at the complex and are obtaining a search warrant for the apartment. Detectives will process the crime scene for evidence throughout the night.

Everyone associated with this case worked tirelessly in the hopes of bringing Maddy home safely.
